Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I thought of a potentially altered opening for the film that could simultaneously convey the source of Batman's trauma, while keeping said source fresh and introducing some levity while still conveying Batman's current state:

    • The film opens in an ambiguous flashback where the audience hears sirens blaring, gunshots firing and blood pouring out of someone's chest. A muscular man begins carrying the body away as gunshots continue to fire, until it's revealed that the man is Batman and he's carrying away Jason Todd.
    • In the present day, Bruce Wayne wakes up screaming, only to realize that he was only dreaming about the situation once more. Sighing, he gets out of bed and proceeds to his usual routine.
    • "All Star" by Smash Mouth starts playing while Wayne is shown going about his usual day of suiting up, driving to the scene of the crime and kicking serious ass (never murdering, though).
** "All Star" would play to emphasize how Wayne knows that his life will never improve, but he might as well be an "All Star" with the one thing that keeps him happy. I also added it to, like I said earlier, add some levity to the scene while still successfully conveying Batman's current life.
      What do you think, guys?

I wouldn't have minded a Jason Todd death via flashback, but "All Star" is a bit too peppy and upbeat for Batman

Thanks to Batmeh v Supermeh Yawn of Justice, the "S" now stands for Sidekick

The reason why I'd use "All Star" is because it was previously used in a movie about a misanthropic, bitter character dealing with his awful life by enjoying certain routines, ala Shrek.
