BVS from a different POV as I actually liked MOS. OK at best.

I would just like to say I genuinely like man of steel. I have seen it several times and unlike BVS it did actually have several positive reviews from various sources.
Was Man of steel great overall though NO but I would call it a good/very good re-boot of this character. It is certainly a different take on superman but I liked it.
I had no problem with superman killing ZOD at all though unlike some fans. I mean they set it up so he was defending people at the time and ZOD told him he would not stop giving him little choice but to kill him.
Honestly even prior to that when he threatened to kill the world's population and due to his power level on par (?) with supermans and his ability to carry out that threat or at least kill a lot of people then I would have no issue if superman killed him in a situation where he wasn't defending civilians.
Is this a different take on the classic optimistic superman character certainly but personally I liked it.
I liked the start on krypton a lot and the middle fight scene as well.
The death of Jonathan Kent though was badly handled IMHO that was probably the worst scene overall for me.
Not sure about the "Nooooo!" after killing of ZOD either.
I actually thought ZACK did some quality action in man of steel which he directed very well.
The overall film isn't quite as good as marvel at it's best, eg winter soldier/civil war but not sure if I prefer this or the original avengers for next on my list.
So I went into BVS with an open mind. I also don't have a big issue with batman killing either. I have only ever watched the ultimate cut on Blu-ray of this film.
It was still worse than ANY MCU film, even the lower tier ones. My worst MCU review is a 7 and this was more of a 5, maybe 6 if being generous.
I thought DC couldn't get any worse in live action but then I watched suicide squad, that is more of a 4.
Man of steel for me was a definite 8, maybe 9.
Back to BVS: ultimate cut
Well it was three hours of let's try and fail to tell an intelligent/dark and gritty story. Now for various reasons I won't get into here I am not a fan of TDK particularly but at least that when viewed without any bias did make a decent attempt at intelligent this doesn't even come close.- Martha - it has to be mentioned but they seriously let that pass the script stage, does anybody at WB even bother reading the scripts of these films? I am guessing not after suicide squad.
A person does not call their mom by her first name that alone is utter BS and ONLY written that way for plot purposes.
Also why should batman care, that doesn't change anything superman has done in his mind + being the world's greatest detective (supposedly) shouldn't he know who his earth parent's are/his real identity.
It isn't hard I mean he doesn't even wear a mask, just a pair of glasses when he is at work.
Maybe this could have worked somehow but not the way it was done. - Kryptonite
It weakens superman to the point that a normal man without super powers can beat him up and put him in a situation where he could be killed.
He then nearly drowns when trying to retrieve it under water.
This clearly establishes a pattern of how much kryptonite effects superman in this universe and for that matter THIS FILM.
BUT then this is ignored as not only can he pick it up/fly with a spear made of it but use it as a weapon
Anyone but him could have used it, my personal choice would be batman.
Now wonder woman was holding doomsday towards the end of the fight with her lasso so perhaps batman could have used it while superman distracted doomsday by fighting him without being weakened by the kryptonite.
It even goes a little with early events, eg instead of trying to kill superman he could use it to kill something that did deserve it eg doomsday. - lex luthor.
I am not totally against different takes on characters but this was just rubbish with eisenberg mis-cast. Maybe it could have worked but would have needed to be far better written. - superman's fake death.
Killing off a major character in a dumb self sacrifice (see point 2) and then clearly hinting that he is still alive/will come back within what ten minutes makes a farce of the funeral scenes. It was rubbish frankly.
Good bitsstruggling here but will try to be objective (it does have more than suicide squad) - Batman warehouse fight, if you can deal with his killing then this is the best live action batman fight scene to date IMHO destroys anything NOLAN did.
- Bruce charging into the smoke/dust when everyone else is running a way, a very powerful/heroic image wasted in this film.
OK bits.. - The trinity vs doomsday, nothing great but except the stupid ending (see above) was fairly entertaining overall.
- batman vs superman, the second usage of kryptonite was badly done he should have had another way to use it rather than the same weapon twice which makes superman look very dumb indeed but apart from that not bad.
- The dream sequence, overall taken as a scene on it'
- Martha - it has to be mentioned but they seriously let that pass the script stage, does anybody at WB even bother reading the scripts of these films? I am guessing not after suicide squad.

Honestly JSSTyger compared to the other mistakes it was minor league. I actually didn't hate it that much.
Now the email with video attachments setting up the justice league now that is more worthy.
However even both those not as bad IMHO as points mentioned. I picked out the worst offenders in this film but there are certainly more.
DC had a bad year with this and then the even WORSE suicide squad.
I will add again this is coming from a guy who liked man of steel and doesn't have an issue with batman killing overall.
