Last week, DC fans everywhere were heartbroken to learn that The Flash film had lost yet another director. After Seth Grahame-Smith left the project earlier in the year, it seemed as thought everything was on the up-and-up when Rick Famuyiwa took the job.
It was announced recently that Famuyiwa has also left the project, creating a massive hole in the director's chair and seemingly zero time left to fill it.
Famuyiwa's departure could also see some of the actors follow him off the project. He was the main motivation behind getting some of the talent, mainly Kiersa Clemens who had signed on to play Iris West.
In addition to the potential loss of talented actors, an enormous time constraint has been added to the project that was already a bit behind. The director was also treating the script, so even that process has been set back.
Now, with the movie scheduled to release in March 2018, there doesn't seem to be time for anything get finished. A script needs to be finished, a director needs to form a vision, the cast needs to be filled, and production needs to begin. There isn't time to make all these steps a reality before the release date.
According to Variety's Justin Kroll, the film could be delayed after this departure.
Justin reminds us that nothing is confirmed, but it does look like things are heading in that direction. With Aquaman in a much better place production-wise, maybe it could move up and take the slot.
It's all speculation at this point, it looks like The Flash is slowing down.

Reading problems? did you miss the part where they said several of the actors were jumping ship with the director? or the script not being done?
Deadpools director left because of problems with Reynolds. now seeing as he loves the character, pushed for the film, did an amazing marketing campaign on his own for it, I'd say when there's creative differences between someone that knows the character on the level he does and a director, it's good when the director walks. Thanks to Batmeh v Supermeh Yawn of Justice, the "S" now stands for Sidekick -

I haven't been following Deadpool's pre production, but doesn't the Flash's situation also involve casting, scripting, etc not being completed? How are those things on Deadpool's end?

..
So besides directors leaving, Deadpool 2 hasn't lost any cast members or is now behind on the script, but you think that's the same situation as a film where director and actors walked, and now needs heavy script doctoring.
And you think that's the same situation.
I can't tell, are you being serious right now? Thanks to Batmeh v Supermeh Yawn of Justice, the "S" now stands for Sidekick -

doesn't sound like she's leaving from comments she's made recently:

seems like Rick is the only loss for The Flash (an important one, of course..it's never fun to lose a creative voice on a project, i imagine).
it's not that different than Deadpool, except it seems from the outside looking in that the Deadpool thing is more of a power-play between Miller & Reynolds

Deadpool is going from the little engine that could to the locomotive that can't. It was obvious this kind of stuff would happen with that type of movie and it's success.
What went from a low budget actor/director passion project turned into a high earning record breaking spectacle that the studio now wants to be a part of. 2/3rds of the team that made the movie great already left because of the studio and reynolds. -

that would be a good idea, if James Wan has things in place for Aquaman i would say do it. We have Arthur and Mera.. Vulko.
or maybe the 2nd solo Superman movie maybe could get started. I don't think delaying Flash for a little bit will hurt if things aren't what they should be.

Fine by me. Delay it and get it right rather than rush it out and end up with a crappy product.
Also, if Ben Affleck's Batman is really in trouble, delay that as well and give us Man of Steel 2 for 2018. It's only fair that Superman gets a movie for his 80th anniversary.
How does it feel to be deconstructed?
