I actually like him quite a bit, I think his career has taken a really impressive turn with his directing efforts. I can't think of a movie he directed I didn't enjoy.
I just regularly see people call him an "Academy Award winning director" in the sense that he has, well, won an Oscar for directing. Which is just factually wrong. I guess it's become a kind of pet peeve to me.

A) Winning an Oscar means diddly squat. Plenty of Oscar winners have been in bad movies after they won.
