1st time watch: 11 minutes into yes I see why Teyana Taylor was hyped

She was the central character to the story and the racial angle is what drove the last half of the movie. She's what tied DiCaprio's and Sean Penn's characters together.
The movie got so boring after her character fled the country and she had no more screen time. The rest of the film was standard boring drama that kind of was aimless. I couldn't care about DiCaprio our the daughter. Lockjaw was mildly interesting. Those minds were boring and that entire KKK side plot was dumb.

She’s nothing special. I didn’t know she was hyped until after I’d seen it, and she didn’t stand out to me. You could interchange with her with the other two black girls in the movie.

I saw this movie blind, and when I finished I did not think “Wow that Teyana Taylor was amazing.” She didn’t stand out to me. I’m not sure what the fuss is about me. I think you could literally swap her hype with Regina Hall in the same movie and have her be the it girl instead, and people would go along with it.
