This is garbage without a worthwhile plot

I'm about to get a lot of hate from a lot of pompous, hipster super indie punks who say they enjoyed this movie for its "artistic merit and eerie pace", and I'm prepared for it.
I watched this movie for an hour because that's all I could tolerate. I rarely ever cut a movie short or walk away from one before it finishes, but I had to with this one. For too much of an extended period of time, nothing happens in this film. I mentally checked out before I could get to the ending because there was nothing for me to pay attention to. For too long, there's little more in the movie than the twins running around, playing, jumping on their trampoline, going exploring, basically doing regular kid stuff, and when they're not doing any of that, they're blankly, vacantly staring at things and get in the occasional argument with their mother. Nothing really happens in the way of connecting these painfully boring and mundane scenes into a plot worth paying attention to.
Visually, this movie is beautiful. Every single shot in the movie is rendered with a highly artistic eye for capturing fascinating composition, establishing eerie lighting and leading the viewer's eye exactly where the cinematographer wants it to go. I give it praise for its cinematography, but that alone will not save this snoozer of a movie. It seems that the directors put too much focus on making it look eerie and captivating from a visual stance and felt that alone would make it worth watching, as if the idea was: "If people like how it looks, they won't be too concerned about a gripping plot." No. Not gonna fly. I can't stand movies like this. Movies like this are like trying to have a conversation with an incredibly attractive mute. Sure, visually, they're very appealing. They're rewarding to look at simply from a surface perspective, but they're not going to entertain your mind with anything substantial to make you think about because they're not saying anything.
I am a story-driven person. I'll take a low production quality movie with a complex, rewarding plot over something that just looks cool any day. This is an hour that I regret giving so freely to this movie. -

Considering that your "opinion" started off with:
I'm about to get a lot of hate from a lot of pompous, hipster super indie punks who say they enjoyed this movie for its "artistic merit and eerie pace"
I'm gonna have to say that nobody gives a flying f_ck about this "opinion" of yours, because you're making an idiotic and senseless generalization for no reason whatsoever.
So every other person that liked this movie and doesn't share your opinion is a "pompous hipster"? Wow, aren't you edgy!
I'd advise you to pursue some form of education before you wanna attempt to share "opinions", because this is just f_cking embarassing and ridiculous. Nevermind the fact that you didn't even watch the whole movie, your "opinion" is nothing but a pile of BS riddled with bait insults because that's the bare minimum you can come up with so you're able to call this an "opinion".
Movies like this are like trying to have a conversation with an incredibly attractive mute. Sure, visually, they're very appealing. They're rewarding to look at simply from a surface perspective,
but they're not going to entertain your mind with anything substantial to make you think about because they're not saying anything.
You know that mutes can communicate, right? Or are you just dumb? Seriously, what a dumb analogy. If you don't try to communicate with a mute person in a way that they can understand you, it's obvious that a dialogue can't be established.
I guess this says a lot about you, doesn't it? You just don't make any effort whatsoever to understand things, and hope to have it all served on a silver platter for you.
You're the only pompous dumbass here.
Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?
