I'm confused as to why the mom got their favorite song wrong. This leads me to think she was indeed an imposter.

It wasn't an imposter.
The Mother probably didn't get the song wrong, it's just that, as Elias/Lukas said before, they had already decided not to trust her no matter what she said.
It could've been/was the right song for all we know, they just didn't care.
Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?
