Yes. I like it when shows play music I've never heard of, so I can look them up later. This new show has all of the old hits and it just seems like they're trying too hard for nostalgia.
Batista is almost spot on and so is Masuka. Younger Deb is more likable but still annoying af. I can't picture Christian Slater as Harry so that's bothering me. Spoiler!
I didn't know Dexter and Deb had an older brother who freaking died! I almost stopped watching then because that broke my heart. -

How far are you? They’ve recast a few more:
Laguerta is pretty on point looks wise, Camilla (from original show season 3 I think) is also recast well
Deb is the hardest role in the show because I think Jessica carpenter put in the most nuanced performance of the original series. I didn’t like her at first and don’t really like the character as much as, say, Dexter. But after rewatching the original you can really see how much little detail goes into her scenes. Even more so than Michael Hall.
The new Deb comes off as annoying and not as endearing. She captures the character’s emotionality at times but a lot of the lines are delivered in a slightly wooden way. She just isn’t doing it for me yet
Everything else I agree with. It’s trippy seeing these recasts

I'm caught up and just started Barry while I wait for more episodes.
New Laguerta looks just like her lol it's weird. I'm glad Doakes isn't in it because I don't know if they could recast him. I can't think of anyone who would be good.
Younger Deb is a teenager, so she has an excuse for being so damn annoying. I just couldn't stand older Deb. -

Tbh as it goes on I’ve kinda lost interest. That may be because I’ve been busier lately, it’s still decent for what it is, which will be an exploration of key characters and their histories…
Far more interested in the upcoming sequel series

I’m 15 min into it and I already have some issues lol like the relationship between Dexter and Debra is nothing like the original show. They always talked about how close they were growing up but that doesn’t seem like the case here
