Was the budget reduced?

Was a HUGE fan of the first season. The production quality was top notch and each episode was like a movie. I can't help but notice that the CGI in season 2 seems to have been dumbed down. The writing also isn't as sharp as the first season. 3 episodes in and not much has really happened. The episodes from the first season were packed with scenes from different places making it feel "expansive" and realistic. Season 2 is starting off rather slow and with limited backdrop diversity. Slightly disappointing with the first few episodes of season 2 after such a fantastic first season.

i dont agree with you, i think there has been a lot going on and very interesting stuff going on. The CGI also seems as good as in s1, pretty sure the next few episodes are going to be bomb like the 3 episodes

I'm liking this season as much if not better but they probably did scale back the budget a bit. The cultural aspect of it has taken a step back and we aren't seeing scenes like we did on Ceres in season 1. Not as many extras, tight filming in smaller areas, slower pacing etc, but the plot itself is still fantastic.
