SLIGHTLY MAGIC!

I wondered what on earth a Kempton joystick was. I didn’t have a Spec Trum so I’m unfamiliar with that term. I played Slightly Magic on a friends though and it was most joyful!
I hope that they adapt it into a movie and keep the same theme tune and have him say ‘slightly magic’ before he waves a wand and casts a spell to a little tune.

By that time I'd have been on 3.5" floppies Bobby and so I probably didn't
I think that would have been around the same time as Xenon 2 - Megablast, Speedball 2 and Street Fighter 2
Awesome time for sequel games!
Did you play it Bobby?

Yes of COURSE I did!! I played it on a friends Spec Trum. Then I bought it for my Commor Dor and was bitterly disappointed! It was a very lazy Speccy conversion and didn’t even have Slightly Magic saying ‘slightly magic’ with a little tune as he casted his little spells!

That was the Spectrum ZX+2, that had 128k of random access memory which the +3 model also had, but it had a 5.5" floppy allowing for faster loading times
The Amstrad equivalent at the time, the CPC, didn't connect to a regular TV and so most people who had it only had a green on black screen. That was rubbish compared to the Speccy and the Commodore (And the BBC Mirco) but the game 'Aliens' on it was a must
Best Alien(s) game I've played. I doubt anyone these days would tolerate it for what it was but back then it was awesome [wingkrin]

I suppose that all systems had their ups and downs. The Speccy had Dizzy fighting their corner! The most pure Dizzy games are on the Speccy up until Crystal Kingdom Dizzy…but no one cares by that point. Dizzy had married Daisy and become Price of the Yolfolk.

I think the 386 redefined what a computer game was Bobby and the Master System 2 and SNES took away most of the tourist gamers
Dizzy will make a return I'm sure. But I don't think those halcyon days of loading times and syntax errors are likely to make a comeback when there's an app for that
Here's to Dizzy and Daisy, long may their omelette's have omelettes!

Have they brought out a Speccy watch yet Bobby?
I've seen Gameboys, Ipods and all sorts but not a Speccy one yet.
That would be good, wouldn't it. You want to see the time and then you have to wait for five minutes whilst it shrieks and whines until it is loaded
They should make one. Someone would buy one

It should also come with a game BUILT IN! That would be a treat.
My vote goes for….FRUIT MACHINE SIMULATOR!!
