it is an abomination that they are actually making it and i now have zero respect for liam neeson, for him just entertaining the thought of acting in this monstrosity of a movie? this is the biggest mistake in movie history remaking a classic comedy masterpiece. there is no reason to remake it bc you can't make it better than the original. this would be like remaking gone with the wind or casablanca.
did you know they are actually going to remake the naked gun movie and have the leslie nielson part be played by liam neeson??? this will be the biggest joke ever and the biggest mistake in movie history. i look forward to this being a huge bomb with critics and the viewing public since this is happening. i also can't think of a worse idea for a movie than this. this would be like remaking citizen kane or the wizard of oz.
i don't care that neeson is a great actor he has no right playing this role that was made perfectly and so his own by nielson in these 3 movies.
this is the equivalent of making a ferris bueller's day off remake with an actor other than matthew broderick.
i don't respect neeson anymore after hearing this about him.
making a remake of this film is blasphemous.
remakes only work if you can make the original movie better and there is no way they can make it better than the original movie.
doesn't it deeply sadden you that they are remaking the the naked gun movie?

it's more than remaking a masterpiece. they're remaking a franchise that was based on a failed but brilliant comedy series that existed from a movie that risked putting three ultra-serious actors from an ultra-serious time-period in a movie that's both serious and funny, and for them to be themselves throughout all the craziness…
there's irony in neilson, stack and bridges being in a wacky movie but none for liam neeson, sorry. in 1980 the 1950's were twenty years before and seemed like 100 years before. but when you go back to 2005, nothing's changed. not even going back to 1992 when neeson became a star.
they're attempting to remake what was basically an intentional fluke. plus, the naked gun franchise itself, with leslie, had petered out. the third one was awful and that was that.
