Wins awards, praised all over the place, yet no one I know watches out and everything I read about it mostly says it's a "meh" to "cringe worthy" even I watched an episode and as in disbelief.
The premise seems dynamic enough to have tons a good drama comedy, let's face it the main star is an excellent actor imo.
Conspiracy? Over hyped to an extent never done before to trick us? But I mean a huge scale manipulation

My girlfriends watching it on an iPad next to me. I've been halfwatching whilst twiddling with my iPhone. From what I can gather,Tamborn is brilliant everyone else is an infuriating caricature of self involved Los Angeles rich beep late 30 somethings.

I know people who watch it and there are positive reviews of it online as well as negative ones. My impression is that it's a divisive show among general audiences yet critics generally love it, as do various awards voters.

Lol, obviously someone watches it, just because you don't personally know anyone who watches it doesn't mean anything. I don't know anyone who watches NCIS the highest rated show on TV, because it's mostly watched by people over 50,and I don't talk to very many of those people. And critics love it, I don't know where you're reading your reviews at, but the overwhelming majority of critic reviews of this show have been very positive including the performances of Hoffman and Light not just Tambor.

I have binge watched every season and love the show, yet I don't know ANYONE else that watches it. I watch a lot of film and TV though (not braggingI don't sit around watching Masterpiece Theater or anything) and consequently watch tons of different kinds of shows, so when I find a gem like Transparent I fully commit.
Transparent is a very honest show. The characters make tons of mistakes. Some are intensely unlikeable (Sarah). Some are awesome (Rabbi Raquel). Some move from one end of the spectrum to the other (Josh, Alley).
I doubt many give the show a chance. Perhaps the subject matter makes people
uncomfortable? I'm ridiculously straight, married to my high school sweetheart and Presbyterian, yet I can relate to the foibles and faults of this family.

And how many people do you know? There are a lot of people in this world, I don't think asking the ones you know if they're watching provides a fair statistic, nor does it support a conspiracy theory. You may recall Tambor was in another fantastic show that was critically praised and wonderful, but it went over the heads of most viewers, so people didn't watch. But the people who did were avid fans.
It's just a TV show, man - and there are a lot of them out there that are great and still won't make it. The market is saturated. It's not an anti-trans conspiracy any more than it's an anti-Tambor conspiracy. It's free will.

I live in San Francisco and I'm very active in the arts, know lots of people. Yet I STILL have only met one or two who watch the show.
Actually the respond I often get is of the "I don't have time to watch television" variety (a passive aggressive answer I hateit says "I'm so busy and important that I have no time for lowly, vile television!").

Another series that is fantastic, yet most of my friends in the arts and comedy don't know it, is
                      The Comeback
                      with Lisa Kudrow.

                        I think it's more of a critic's darling than a popular show.

This show is one of the most beautifully intimate shows on television. I don't care if I'm the only one watching as long as it keeps going with its high quality filmmaking.

I watch it and I do not care what some Trump supporter thinks.

That's the attitude! Not care and live in a bubble, hence your commander in chief, Her Trump.

I do not live in a bubble. Just the opposite. I do not judge people based on their sexuality or sexual orientation. It is just not cool.
