Sarah is the WORST

I'm glad you posted this. I wanted to like this show, but I got 3/4 of the way through the first ep and had to stop. Watching him schlep around that mall holding his shoe, and the way he kept drinking that Gatorade he couldn't pay for, just pissed me off. Should I keep trying? I realize I'm focusing on the wrong things, but when a character annoys me it makes me want to give up. If you, or anyone else, has advice, please let me know. TYIA!

The episode you are referring to is from Season 3 Episode 1. I can't tell if you have watched the other seasons. I would imagine this show is not for everyone, but I found it interesting from the GetGo. Not to say I have enjoyed all the episodes, but there are many I have. Still trying to find my favorite, but I think I like mostly scenes from some of the episodes. If you have not watched from the beginning, I would suggest going there. If you have already watched the first 2 seasons, and you are upset with the first episode of Season 3, it's probably not your cup of tea so to speak. Elizah, or Season 3, Episode 1 was not one of my favorites, but it may have set the footwork for a later episode where Mort/Maura gets some medical advice to his transformation.

I actually like Sarah. Yes, she's out there, but I think part of her behavior is that she already has suffered or is 2 heartbeats away from a nervous breakdown, and that her family has not realized it. After Season 2, Episode 1 I can't imagine how the family can't realize that though. Sarah is very adept at finding quick and rash ways to self-medicate herself to feel better immediately so therefore some of the bizarreness, at least I think that. One of Sarah's problems, according to Sarah, is that she did not get Mother Love when she was a child, and she was still searching for it. To me it is rather sad.

Really? I don't hate her at all! I actually don't hate anyone which is unusual for me when I watch a show. haha
The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. -

Sarah has no filter. She says (and does) whatever pops into her empty head. Of the three kids, I liked her the least. Josh won me over in Season 2. I like Ally better since she grew up, but hate her creepy relationship with Leslie.
Maura came away as the worst character in Season 3. She is selfish and bitterly honest. I couldn't stand her!
Oh what a falling off was there. -

Then you haven't watched You're the Worst. I can't decide which one of those characters is the truly the worst. I wouldn't want to be friends with any of them, except maybe Edgar, the military veteran, because he's messed up from PTSD. The rest are just generally awful. The show title says it all LOL

Buzz? Seriously? (SPOILERS)
He's a leech and a pathetic liar. The confrontation with Shelly was painful to watch, actually acting like he was crying over his "dead wife", then just pops right out of it when Shelly calls him on it. I don't necessarily think he was malicious, but allowing him to stay in her life would have damaged Shelly badly. -

I came onto this message board hoping to see a post like this and I wasn't disappointed! All the characters are deeply flawed people which is partially what makes them so interesting, but I don't find anything redeeming about Sarah. I think the final straw for me was when she betrayed her own brother by seeing the rabbi.
