          No, it was. I believe that they made a fictional name for it but the michigan women's music festival was a real thing and it was probably quite a bit like that. The only thing that wasn't accurate, I felt, was that they over-sympathized with Maura in the scene where the other women are confronting her about safe space. They made what the women were saying sound ridiculous. I would never defend TERF's or anyone who is anti-trans woman. However, their point of view comes from very real life circumstances. Their mistake was in not understanding the realities of being trans - they were too involved in the realities of living as female in our culture to realize that transwomen are women and actually don't have male privelege.
          I think it was pretty accurate, it just wasn't terribly balanced. Anyone without a background (which is probably most of the people who watch the show, who may be too young to really know anything about this era) would just see the festival women as ridiculous and militant. There was a reason for their point of view, however misguided.
