A DNA test should have been the FIRST thing he did when she showed up with the baby to ascertain if he actually was the father, it's what I would have done and what anyone else in the same situation should do .. just common sense.

Depends on who the person is. An old one night stand, then definitely. An old girlfriend who you thought you had a good relationship with, then it's a bit more understandable if you take her word for it. I don't remember which one of those applied to Lasalle, the storyline never interessed me enough to care.

I'm thinking this is going to turn out be a scam she's running. My question is why hasn't LaSalle demanded a DNA test to see if the kid is really his? I mean if I were him and this woman shows up out of the blue with a kid in tow, I'd be dragging them both to the lab for a DNA test.

In the last episode he tried phoning her without getting an answer. It could mean she is into some things she doesn't want him knowing about. I'm more surprised that no one on the team didn't think to suggest to him that her showing up after two years is suspicious at best. I was first on board with he shouldn't trust her on just her word. What has she been up to all this time. I also wouldn't bet against it that the Mayor is involved as always in the scam.

A guy showed up at NCIS and told Lasalle to stay away from his kid and punches him. Lasalle confronts Melody about it and she admits that the guy actually is the real father. She lied to Lasalle because the guy is a bad person with a bad temper and she feared for her and the kid's safety, and wanted to be with someone who could be a good dad to her kid. She tried to get a restraining order against him but couldn't since he hadn't actually done anything to her yet. The episode ends with Melody leaving town and Lasalle having the father arrested since he's wanted for crimes in Texas, and for assaulting a federal officer, which means that he's going to jail for a long time and won't be able to hurt Melody or the kid.

Well he isn't the father to that kid, they must've done a paternity test but I didn't see when LaSalle got the results back proven the child wasn't his I guess w/all the cartel stuff going on and it getting more personal for Pride the writers decided for us to find out in Episode 11 and didn't make a big deal over it.
