That seemed to be the ending point of the movie and it was true. He was the most famous person and most beloved person on the planet, and the stress to keep the public happy and maintain that level of success must have been immense. That is why he feared aging so much. His career was built on his looks and youthfulness, and he was losing it and this losing his whole life. He sacrificed himself to give his fans the music they love.

His diet wasn't the best but he didn't get bloated from food. It was due to both the downers to help him sleep and an underlying genetic disorder than ran through his mother's family. The coroner's investigator attributes it mostly to genetic disposition though.

Losing his looks as you say was also partly his fault though. It's true he had u dealing illness his mother and his uncles suffered from. But the sleeping pills worsened his gut problem and water retention issues. It was a cycle unfortunately, he needed the downers to help him sleep after a concert and needed the amphetamines to wake up, both increased through the years as he developed a tolerance for it. That's how his constipation got as bad as it became.
