This needs to be canned as soon as possible and some thing of the Old BBC quality put on instead.
When is the so called lead ( For a want of a better word ) actress going to learn how to actually act!

The premise was great.
But some of that dialogue was cringeworthy! And hey, I love bad dialogue. haha
Felt sorry sometimes for the actors having to try to get some verisimilitude from some of those dreadful lines.
That scene where Capt. James tries to tell Molly why he fell in love with her because she opened him up to all kinds of things in life was like a very bad romance novel and I wanted to hide under the coach on his behalf in shame. Poor Ben Aldrige trying to make that scene work. As if.

It's been in danger of degrading from a drama into a soap for a while, especially in episode 4. But then today's episode was straighy from Albert Square

While awaiting the finale, I found and watched the original film from last year that set the stage for the series.
What a difference. I liked it so much better.
The whole thing struck the perfect chord from start to finish. No cringeworthy stuff. Just showed her life that seemed quite realistic from things you see where she grew up.
Sure, it was an homage to "Private Benjamin" and "Officer and a Gentleman' (especially one of the final scenes). But an homage is okay, if it's done with respect.
In a way, I did not recognize the Molly from the end of the film to the Molly who showed up in this series.
They just seemed very different people! The series Molly did not seem to have the full depth the Movie Molly did. When that letter was read at the end of the film, it was SO very moving. Somehow I couldn't imagine Series Molly writing that letter with such eloquence.
And they allowed the Martin McNulty corporal to just be her trainer and have a sweet spot for her in a good way, but it never was pursued, which was better, than the unprofessional triangle in the war zone.
If the series had been the same tone and emotional quality of the original film, it really would have been so special.
But it fell short. Such a shame. That character had SO much potential to be a memorable one!
