Well that's stupid. That's like casting a regular-looking guy to play Thor so that plane Joe male audiences can relate to him.
This is so stupid. Superheroes are SUPPOSED to be impossibly good-looking. This really was a dumb move.

You could doll most average girls in makeup, like they do for her as SG, and they could look like her version of Supergirl.
Benoist doesn't have supermodel or stunning/outworldly looks.
She looks like a plain jane. Hence why she looks like many of the cosplayers who dress up as SG.
