It is completely out of place. It feels like a silly kids' soap opera. If anyone watched the "Black Widow" movie parody on SNL, that's what it felt like. Next they'll have some hot young brooding vampire for Kara to all of a sudden be giddy over. Totally lame.

Agreed, before she didn't even see him that way, neither did he until last week and now he wanted to mate with her. And now this week, she just starts having feelings for him? It definetely feels forced. It's a shame they broke up her and James like they did but this was really predictable especially that breakup.

No, he was always into her. It was obvious. I don't think it's forced, it makes a lot of sense for them to be together. Especially that break-up? What do you mean, you said it's a shame. I for one love Kara and Mon-El and Never liked her and James. They don't make any sense romantically, but Kara and Mon-El do. I don't know about the comics, but on the show, I hope it's Kara and Mon-El. They have the most chemistry, and a similar background, they have a good time together. I'm glad that she dumped James, it was odd, not really though since they don't make any sense as a couple. They should just be friends.

He is a hot Brooding Vampire
Well also a witch turned into a vampire to kill his family who were linked to his life, so he killed himself and became a vampire with Witch powers

no way. i'm loving the Mon/Kara coupling. IMO it doesn't feel forced at all.

Here is how I would do the second half of the season.

                1. Both perhaps thought things were moving too fast with that kiss; Mon-El acted like he didn't remember, Kara pretended it didn't happen.
                2. Eventually both will decide they want this
                3. Mon-El will make the mistake of not telling Kara he is the prince of Daxam before they get into their relationship
                4. Those aliens who are searching for him will show up and blow his deception sky-high
                5. They break up
                6. Kara stops the aliens hunting Mon-El in an episode also featuring Superman who helps.
                7. Mon-El thinks there is nothing left for him here and wants to go where he won't be hunted anymore, Clark offers him an alternative.
                8. Clark and Mon-El go to the 30th Century using the same means Clark used as a young man, and they meet the Legion of Super Heroes
                9. Mon-El joins the Legion and remains in the 30th Century
                10. Kara wonders why Clark did this, but Clark knew it had to happen because he had been to the 30th Century over a decade ago and he knew that Mon-El was destined to go there.
                11. The end to the season is going to be a final showdown with Cadmus. Jeremiah escapes and tells the gang that Cadmus evil plan is to create their own Superman and Supergirl, and capture the real Superman and Supergirl. They will use their creations to slowly turn the two Kryptonians evil in the eyes of the populace to aid in their crusade against aliens on Earth.
                12. Superman and Supergirl go to Cadmus (or one is captured and the other goes in after them) and there is a final showdown. Henshaw is defeated, Momma Luthor goes down, and their cloning experiment is only partially complete, Superman and Supergirl free a young clone of Superman who turns out to be the Connor Kent Superboy.
                13. Henshaw escapes to either the Fortress or the DEO and steals either Superman or Supergirl's ship, and uses it to leave Earth. He eventually runs into Mongul/Darkseid/Brainiac and returns in a future season, perhaps next season.
                14. Superboy goes to live with the Kents in Kansas. It would be neat to see Supergirl visit the farm.
So in the end, it doesn't work out for the Karamel shippers. With that said I do not know who Kara should eventually end up with in the long run.

I'm not sure which is worse, James being the guardian, james/kara love story cut off right when it started, or mon-el.
Overall agree this season is good though I miss cat and lucy.

I am OK with Kara being with Mon-El even if it is not canon.
What I cannot understand though is why Mon-El is so weak in this show? He is suppose to be as strong as Superman with all his powers but with a different weakness.

Kara and Mon-El have kissed before. In the comic books.

They have about a thousand times more chemistry than Kara/James did so I like them. Find something original to complain about, romance is gonna happen on a CW show, get over it.
Dark Stefan, may I have this dance?

The quality of the show is mediocre. It started very slow in season one and only started to take off in the last couple of episodes before the season finale.
The first couple of episodes this season were good but its been going steadily downhill since. The character's personalities change from episode to episode as if the script is being written by a committee that changes members every week. The pacing is off. They rush through the interesting sub plots and plod along with sub plots that do little or nothing to advance the main story. The script is like reading an Edgar Rice Burroughs novel. I can tell what's going to happen at the end of the episode by the end of the first commercial break.
I'll probably watch the first and maybe second episode after the hiatus. If the quality doesn't improve I'll be done with the series.

You wrote what I have been thinking. I am close to giving up on the show and just pretending that only season 1 exists. That it wasn't ruined by the mess that season 2 has become. I am also waiting to see if anyone out there associated with the show is listening to what I consider to be constructive criticism. I want the show to be a great show. I loved the first season and would have loved for the writers to have built on that. This season has been steadily going downhill every week. It's very lazy writing. I will however give it a couple more post hiatus episodes before I move on.
The messed up thing is that after watching season 1 on Netflix I recommended the show to all my friends through social media. Now I just tell them to only watch season 1 on Netflix. Hopefully it gets better.

I'm still undecided about Kara/Mon-El but at least they have a playful chemistry with each. James and Kara were total snoozeville for me.
As for the Guardian storyline, I dvr the show and FF through those bits. Really, for me, James is the deadweight of the show. He just bores me silly. I've never seen the actor in anything before this so I can't tell if it's the way the role is written or the way the actor plays him.
