He did a really good job, and he's also really handsome to look at. I hope we see him every now and then. The chemistry

He was okay. He wasn't great and he wasn't terrible. He doesn't exude the commanding presence of Christopher Reeve or Henry Cavill and he doesn't have the meekness and quiet strength of a Dean Cain or George Reeves for Clark Kent.
He kinda just ripped off Reeve's "bumbling" portrayal of Clark Kent with a tinge of Post-Crisis Clark when interviewing Lena Luthor. I don't think the two mingle very well, especially if Cat Grant is head over-heels for Clark and he's a bumbling fool. But that's more the writing than his performance.
The costume is still hideous. It's clear they were trying to capture a mixture of the Injustice and New 52 suits, but it just looks terrible. They should either stick him in the classic costume or something akin to the Man of Steel/BvS suit or don't bother.
Tyler Hoechlin might need to shave twice a day or something because he's got a really thick 5'0clock shadow in several scenes and unless Clark is going through a tough time, it just looks weird to see Superman have a half-beard.
So yeah, not godawful, but hardly "great."

I'd still rather they went with someone older to play the part. Is Kryptonians aging slower on Earth an actual thing, or was that just written in because they cast someone who's like, ten years younger than Superman is supposed to be in this continuity? Lol
Otherwise, I liked his Clark Kent over his Superman. He's just not really the Superman I envisioned for this show. -

Yeah, Kryptonians ageing slowly is a real thing un the comics. However, comic-books most of the time make the age difference between generations noticeable even when there is no logic for it to be that way.
For example, Wonder Woman's mother Hippolita is drawn to look her 40s, older than WW, although Amazons are immortal and don't age, hence, the two should look the same age.
Same with Ra's al-Ghul. He is centuries old and baths in Lazarus Pit to preserve his youth, but still looks at least 50 next to his daughter Talia, who is supposed to look late 20s/early 30s. I guesd they want to enhance the age difference looks because of the implications readers might have. I guess they believe readers will buy a 40p-year-old guy looking 55, being a father of a 30-year-old, but wouldn't buy the same guy if he looked 30. The reasons might be superficial, but there you go.
As for Superman, he was mostly supposed to look late 20s/early 30s, a perfect age fit for Hoechlin. However, it's Supergirl who is usually drawn to look younger, late teens maybe. It addition to that, she is usually drawn short and of slight built to enhance the difference. -

It's a bullxhit made up by Frank Miller to The Dark Knight Returns. Golden Age Superman aged normally and couldn't have children with Lois; that's why they adopted Power Girl as their daughter.

I thought Tyler was great!
I've been a fan of his for a while (loved him on Teen Wolf) and I will admit that when news broke he would be appearing in S2 as Superman, it was the final push I needed to start watching this show since I skipped it last year due to having too many other shows already. An actor I adore playing a character I love?! Count me in.
I binge watched S1 last month to get caught up and was very impressed with the premier episode of S2. Tyler was damn charming and heroic. I really enjoyed his chemistry with the rest of the cast, especially Melissa!
Side note- Also really liked Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, looking forward to seeing more of her this season as well.
I really hope Tyler continues to sporadically appear on this show as I think he makes a fantastic Superman/Clark Kent.
Doesn't hurt that he looks damn good in that tight suit too.

Looove him
Superman has always bored me to tears, but this version is really charming and sweet. The most important thing about him is his chemistry with Kara and he had that in spades.
