it was so pushed. like you cant just have gay characters you have to force it on a regular character so she could try to fit in. not that hey maggie youre a cool friend i want to sleep with you and not just be friends cause like all friends are supposed to make moves on eachother. everything has to be sexual.

Yes, Alex wanted to be with Maggie, but I don't see it as a "Instant gratification." thing.

Nope, I did not stop watching the show. The gay plot-line does not bother me, of course, it could have been handled way more professionally. Also, I have no issue with political messages in this show, however, again, it could be done way more professionally.

Yeah it's bad writing. They're so obviously forcing Supergirl being a hero , they keep showing her save people. Don't get me wrong , I have nothing against super people , I have several super friends. But every time I see a super do something heroic on this show I feel like it's being forced down my throat.

No , I'm just someone who believes in replying to the latest post to keep things linear. As opposed to having sub replies where it gets inserted higher up on the list of posts.
I'm just making posts to represent what I see when other people use phrases like 'forced' and 'down my throat' about something they don't like. The point I'm trying to make is that people tend to think things are being forced when really it's just standing out to them for whatever reason. -

I don't think it's a very wise idea to state you stopped watching a show because of gay characters.
This is 2016. That kind of stuff really doesn't belong after 2010.
Heck, the fact that there's still hatred and bigotry towards gays makes me mad, and I'm straight. I hate bigotry.

Dumbass that wasn't the point of my post. I didn't stop watching because of this issue alone. I said it was one of the many if not the biggest part why I stopped watching because I did at one point like parts of Season 1. There's only so many times I can skip scenes of a forced gay story line taking place while the characters act like Alex was struggling with something really traumatic. I feel bad for Chyler who's better when she's an agent than some teenager from the 70s with an identity crisis.
Being gay isn't a life struggle. People don't hate gays, a good majority don't care. What they do care about is their agenda being forced in their faces in entertainment just to string along the PC messages loud and clear. Berlanti needs to stop injecting his own personal opinions into the show and maybe it can become tolerable to watch again. It's too far leftist to just be entertained anymore. I could even bypass the feminine gobbledy**** they normally throw in there to appease the SJW that overpraise this show. I don't think it's going away, the ratings aren't exactly Flash's. They need to dial back the social justice crap to win back their audience. -

You're wrong. I tried to think of a subtler way of saying that but I couldn't. You are simply wrong. You seem to believe because homophobia isn't actively encouraged by society as a whole it doesn't exist. People hate gays the same way they hate every other group on this planet. And the majority of people you mention (which includes me) do support discrimination passively. This show isn't pushing a leftist agenda. The feminine gobbledy**** isn't ruining the show. You think this show needs to win back its audience. I think the audience needs to embrace the show as is.

Clearly it's your right to believe what you believe. I've seen it first hand, there ARE people who hate gays, much the same as there are people who hate minorities, middle eastern folks, Canadians- you name it there's hate.

Seriously, there is no reason to hate the people who are gay, and there is no reason to burn gays anymore. Which is what anyone who hates them actually wants. Even if they say it isn't.

Who stopped watching the show when they started pushing the gay story line between Maggie and Alex?
I tuned in to watch this crossover stuff and can say I will NEVER watch Supergirl again because of this homosexual agenda crap. Promoting mental disorder and sexual preference this way in a superhero show is as wrong as it gets.
