to become sort of an Tony Stark like character?
not the arrogance and wealth of course, but the technical genius wearing a robotic suit part?
he is the toymakers kid, afterall and seems to be shown as the allaround genius that can learn alien languages in hours and all that.
so him making a power armor for himself, maybe based on the exoskeleton that Alex used? reinforced by kryptonian tech salvaged from Fort Roz?
if they plan for a big ass invasion for this season (white martians?) they would need a small army of good guys anyway.
James is becoming the Guardian, so let Winn use his brain to create something for himself.
maybe make it so that he intially only creates it to help Mon-El? as a training partner? -

Yeah. I kinda agree. I would prefer we see more actual DC superheroes appearing on the show like Power Girl and the Legion than having already established characters like James Olsen becoming superheroes.
They should get Zatanna, Raven and Starfire to make appearances.

I like him as the behind the scenes guy, and I just don't feel like being out on the field would fit him.
i think him and James secretly teaming up could end up being a great dynamic, so I'd rather that be what Winn's scenes are focused on. -

so? how would that contratdict my statement that the season will NOT end with the 4 part crossover? (by which i meant that there can still be a white martian invasion plot in supergirl, even with a similar plot as the basis for the crossover)

Oh, I think that there will eventually be a white Martian invasion eventually, but I doubt it will be THIS season. Unless it will be the season finale cliffhanger
