Daxamites could do everything Superman could do. The only difference was that they were weak to lead. Now on this show not only do they remove the heat vision, flight, freeze breath, super hearing, x-ray vision but they make sure his strength, and speed are WELL BELOW a good bit below Kryptonians.
I guess they didn't want him out shinning the title character.
Unless of course it takes time for those powers to manifest.

He just got to earth. It will take time to build up the energy to use all the fancy powers. I'm sure Kara will be teaching him to fly by episode 10.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

So he can be shot as long as bullet is made of lead?
I hate to say it but it sounds like a very important difference

Except lead can be found just about anywhere. Even if there happened to be none at the DEO, how could he not have been exposed during ttht little excursion if his with Winn?

I noticed that. Very disappointing. He's one level above Luke Cage. One reason Kara will relate to him is because they are aliens and so alike, but they don't seem as much alike now.
Where are the Asian characters DC CW?

              Weak to lead?
Trace amounts of lead give them incurable lethal lead poisoning so I wouldn't call that merely "weak to lead"

Ya I think they did so because they didn't want Kara to be overshadow by another Superman or Kryptonian equivalent regardless they slowly give him his full powers or not. Probably why Martian Manhunter is so non-existence in terms of using powers.
Sometimes I think certain writers who wrote powerful protagonist think they have to depower all those around them.

I figure he gets his powers from the sun, like Kara. He's only briefly been outside since getting to the DEO. Maybe that's why he isn't powered up yet?

Yeah, he's basically at Siegel-Shuster Superman power levels.

Good point. I noted someone even mentioned his power levels was around "leaping buildings" (with a single bound?) levels?

I am not sure he has not superhearing.
He has not been so exposed to the yellow sun. When he does, he will probably develop some powers. And I am sure he will fly soon.
I suppose they made him weaker so they can have him around without shading Kara (that is why they can't have Superman around). And so she can "realistically" be in custody of him. She needs to be noticeably more powerful than him for the DEO to be ok with releasing him.
I hope they don't make him lead vulnerable, because that is stupid.
My major complaint with Mon-El so far is precisely the name. He is a Daxamite and just happens to have a name matching the only two Kryptonians on Earth? And nobody even raises a brow? Lazy writing.

The producers didn't do there home work. Mon-El was given that name by Superman because he arrived on earth on a Monday and the last name El is superman's surname who gave him it because he thought he was his brother originally.
His Daxamite name is Lar Grand.
