It's about time someone dumped the Big Bad and freak of the week formula. It's also nice that Roulette was not jailed.
I miss Cat, but I do not miss her misandry. It looks like James is finally moving beyond his milquetoast persona.
The new Luthor is no match for Maxwell Lord and I'd love to see him trying to navigate a world with so many aliens in the public sphere. He also had much more chemistry with Alex.

I wouldn't count out a Big Bad just yet. I think there's going to be a White Martian invasion this season and that there is one disguised as the president. I think that's also why they are throwing more heroes into the mix, so there's a small army to fight the White Martians.
Supergirl and Superman don't have a big rogues gallery like the Flash does. It has helped the show because it forces them to focus more on story elements.
I have to wonder if Maxell Lord is even coming back. I wish Lena Luthor had been there since season one and they hadn't used Lord to try and fill Lex Luthor's shoes. -

Even if there is a big bad, it's done differently then how we've seen it on Arrow, the Flash, and last season's SG and LOT. where the big bad shows up in the first season. The audience knows who they are and they pop in and out all season until the finale. Often the Big Bad sends smaller bads at the hero.
Superman has a huge rogue's gallery. In fact, many have been used already on Supergirl. They are so underpowered and easily defeated that they don't seem all that threatening. I.E. The guy tonight that did not resist arrest because the DEO had what appeared to be guns.
Superman's rogues are often on the intergalactic level and that may be why we don't see them. Just because most of his movies focus on Lex Luthor and Zod doesn't mean they are the only thorns in his side. Others may be saved for film.
I doubt Max will be back, another loss because of the move to the CW.

Agreed and I like the way it's being done here, assuming there is a White Martian invasion. I'm getting tired of the "guessed the masked villain" thing as well. The Flash has another one and it's very obvious who it is.

I know, I've been complaining about the Superman movies for years. I was really shocked Zod wasn't with Non and Astra in the first season.
He just doesn't have as many recognizable ones as someone like The Flash or Batman is all. Not that it should be a problem, they're using every villain that the Flash and Green Arrow have ever had no matter how obscure. -

THe show has proven itself capable of being good. Supergirl was never going to work on CBS to begin with: but, under circumstances, it did well on CBS. EVen though, the show has seen a massive drop in viewership, season 2 is looking way better than season 1. Tonight's episode is the type of episode that should be written every week, but I know it won't happen.
You're clearly an idiot, don't get mad because I tell you the truth.
