I really liked the episode! spoilers
Glad to see an episode with no switching back and forward and keeping the main focus on Bruce. People tend to forget he is not just some hammy actor, but has such a wide range of emotions and can articulate physical and mental pain like no other.
This was Bruce's episode to shine! And even though we know it's a set-up, there where so much nice little surprises in this one. I loved the hallway hallucinations with the rotating wall and with Ash's arm stuck in it. There where moments of intense gruesome gore just once not played for laughs which gave the series its well needed seriousness kicked in. (dont get me wrong I love the humor aspect, but its a fine balance and in most episodes this season theres comic relief a little too fast and always around the corner)
I loved the atmosphere and look and feel and yes even that glimpse of Chet 'alive' in his nightmare was great, Ted rules. Handpuppet Ash was awesome and groovy, Bruce played it soo good! I want one of those
I give this episode 4.5/5 -

It was dull and predictable. That is all there is to it. Everything that happened was in Ash's head. HE LITERALLY SAID IT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE. To anyone with a brain, when the
"
destroy the book
"
line was said, it should have clued them in to baal's desire for Ash to kill Pablo, who is one with the book now. Since Baal wants to destroy Ash's ego, he would obviously make him kill Pablo and Kelly in his head. Baal wants Ash as HIS puppet. So he has to destroy Ash's support system, ergo, Pablo and Kelly. Everything about the episode and how it played out was spelled out from the first minute of the episode. They didn't even try to shake it up.
Please don't praise lazy writing and directing. 2/5 -

Great episode. Too many butthurt children upset it was something different. Next week they'll bitch that, that episode is the worst ever for equally idiotic reasons.

I agree just watched and it was fantastic. Definitely one of the better episodes. Its also incredible how they manage to pack so much content into such a short running time. Bruce Campbell also gave a fantastic performance as Ash here he went through so many different changes it was a real treat to watch Bruce really embrace Ash as a character.
Well done to the production team in NZ for making so many high quality episodes they really are a talented bunch of people -

I wasn't that keen on this episode. I felt it hindered the storyline rather than move things along. And it was lacking in the humour content that has been hugely appealing in previous episodes. However, all in all, its still a brilliant tv show.
