I've been seeing this advertised for years and even started watching the first couple episodes last year but just couldn't get into it at the time. Started again a couple weeks ago and pretty much watched it straight through during the christmas season. The premise is fairly simple and the stories are uncomplicated, but it's so engaging. Also features a couple of the best characters ever in a show, Rip, and Beth Dutton, who is psychotically dreamy in every imaginable way. I rank this right up there with my favorite shows of all time, which now looks like this:
Game of Thrones
Yellowstone
Battlestar Galactica
Lost
Justified
Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
The Event
Deadwood
and Chernobyl, if mini-series counts.

Well, you see, many shows take time to build steam. That's how they weed out those who are not worthy to watch it. They probably don't want you as part of the audience demographic since the entire goal of tv shows is to sell ad space to sell products, and you have no money since you're "26" and have never worked a day in your life, a perpetual "college student" who isn't actually enrolled in college. And that's all you'll ever be, since catfish don't evolve like real people do.

I haven't watched the latest season. I enjoyed the first season more than the later ones, but it was mostly pretty good.
I have been a fan of Kelly Reilly (Beth) for years, for several good reasons.
If I have a minor complaint, I found that the daughter-in-law's scenes teaching at the university cringey beyond belief. But nothing a quick fast forward couldn't manage. -

What are these "good reasons" and what else are you a fan of hers for doing?
She's so great in this part I can't even imagine anyone else playing Beth this well.

Good actor, credible in every role, very attractive, and often baring her considerable assets.
She's a Brit, I remember her in a number of British movies and tv shows, some good, some bad, over the last 15 years or so.
She was also in Denzel's 'Flight', a so-so movie some years back with however an amazing first 30 minutes or so (when he lands the plane).
