Writing gets poorer the more you think about it

This show is more of a freak success rather than one due to talent. The show got away with a lot of bad writing simply because we didn't know where it was going. But once you know and start thinking about it, the whole thing starts to unravel.
Could you perhaps elaborate, Mr.
MyOpinionIsFact
? And I'm sure your username is no reflection on your ego.
Right on bratha! People are obese lazy-brains who mindlessly gorge themselves on hype like they do junk food. They can't wait to buy into and eat up all that smoke-and-mirrors marketing sht.
It just takes a few posts of reasoned criticisms from a level-headed person like me to make them open their eyes and think about what they're being fed by these Doofus Twins scammers.
We're all fuking morons with mush for brains who mindlessly gorge ourselves on popular trash. The writing sucks. The acting blows.
This is what passes for "reasoned criticism" from a "level-headed person" like yourself, who sinks to name calling. The Doofus Twins. Honestly. Are you ten years old? -

Yup, that is one thousand percent correct!

Nope, not 10. I am 103 yrs old. I am extremely level-headed, wise, and all powerful. Next question. -

I have a question, your ancientness. Do you have any actual reasons for all the hating? Other than just stating things suck and insulting people who don't agree. Yes, you can be a smartass and deflect my question. It would be nice to hear something well thought out and sensible though, about the specific
reasons
you hate the show enough to let us know that repeatedly. Not opinion stated as fact, handed down like the ten commandments. That's not what I mean. I'm talking about an intelligent analysis of what you think is wrong, and why. -

I wish you can give a better analysis of such criticism rather than just say it and leave nothing.
Especially a criticism about the writing. If someone knows that the writing is bad you'd think they'd be able to communicate (aka "write") as to why they feel that way. -

The government covered up Barb's death and made it look like she ran away from home (left the car at the bus stop). Barb's parents obviously weren't like Will's mom, and they believed it. As for what happened to Barb, Eleven saw her dead body, and then Hopper saw it in the Upside Down. So they knew what happened to her, and Hopper might have told them about it off camera. Also, we don't know 100% the deal that happened with Hopper, but we do know that he had to agree to pretend none of that stuff happened. SO, for the sake of protecting the lives of all the people involved, Barb's death probably had to remain a secret because they probably left her body behind.

Any PI would check if Barb actually purchased a ticket and to where.
This could unravel in the future. -

Barb's mother is going to remember that phone conversation where Nancy seemed concerned about her whereabouts. Clearly she knew
something
was wrong at that point and should've spoken up, but didn't. It would not have saved her daughter but without the full truth Barb's mom has no way to know that. She may hold Nancy partly responsible and assume (correctly) that she knows a lot more than she's saying. Trouble in season 2 perhaps? -

I've only seen through about episode 6 or 7 and the writing has been pretty good. But I think the acting and the actors picked for the characters has been truly excellent. The acting has been very good and their characters all seem to go through some development through the Season's 8 episodes so far even Steve. I love seeing all the older cars too. I mean that WAS the 80's. You had a PLETHORA of cars all over back then. You had the 'new' big and boxy Buicks and Cadillacs, yet still saw Bugs, 60's and 70's cars. I mean back then we didn't really have 'vintage' and cars we ALL so much easier to work on ourselves too. Heck, I drove a 66 Mustang until around 1992. I remember in the late 80's you could a vintage tag for cars that were 25 years and older, but it also meant you could only drive them for so many miles a week too and I drove that Mustang EVERYWHERE. Heck even the couch we see in Hopper's trailer we had one almost exactly like it, just a different color scheme. Sorry, got into multiple subjects there. so easy to do with this show.

I feel I have to agree with you OP. My wife and I have just watched the series over the past few nights and mentioned the very same thing. It seems like the longer it went on the dumber the charecters began to act. Having said that we did enjoy it overall even if there were plenty of lol moments and open mouthed wtf moments. I think the last time we had a similar conversation over a tv show was when we suffered our way through Under The Dome which quickly became car crash television that we could'nt take our eyes off to see just how bad something could actually get. Looking forward to series 2 now.
The stupid have one thing in common. They alter the facts to fit their views not the other way! -

I agree to an extent. But I fully believe Scifi gets a pass on lazy writing. And horror to an degree as well. In order for the story to continue and persist, sometimes stupid beep has to happen. But its not like real life isnt similar.
You cant honestly watch 90% of scifi movies and think rationally. For one, these people are experiencing things you will never experience, so thinking you "know" how things are going to play out, or should "know" how things play out is nothing but arrogance and ego.
