The 4th episode mocking the idiocy and completely ridiculous hoops the Dallas police/prosecution had to jump through to convict Adams over Harris in The Thin Blue Line is so on point. Like the absurd comedy of the mockumentary just elevates how incompetent and set on a witch hunt the real police/prosecution were in Texas. I recently watched The Thin Blue Line for the first time and could barely finish it because it was just so maddening and frustrating, but the episode parodying it really made me laugh and I guess acted as a good catharsis to the upsetting reality of the actual doc. And I don't know why the bit about trail mix was so hilarious, but man it was.

Yeah, I just watched it and I'm laughing my ass off. The real story is quite sickening so I'm glad this provides some levity regarding this sad case.

I love that Armisen played the Lentile character as a cheerfully defiant weirdo with a special talent for annoying people. If the character had been like the real Randall Adamsan ordinary, unremarkable guy with
        terrible
luckit would have been really difficult to make the parody funny.

I had to take a break from watching I couldn't stop laughing. It is pure genius how they turned such a serious and upsetting story into a hilarious parody. I think it was the best one of the series.

"He asked me to pitch in for gas, and I said, 'Well, I don't have any money; that's why I'm hitchhiking.' So he wrote his name and number and address on a piece of paper, and he said 'Be a friend; do the right thing."

"He said 'you'll never see your wife again!' So then I said I've been happily divorced for 11 years! Then he said, 'well, then you'll never see your kids again!' So I told him guess what?! I don't have any kids! There's something wrong with my ex-wife's uterus. I don't want to go into great detail, but Her ovaries recoil back like a vacuum cleaner cord. But to respect her privacy for this, I'll just.tell the rest of the story"
