What's better, The Crown or Downton Abbey?

Again, not putting it down, but Downton Abbey was a soap opera for a long time. In many ways.
It's not competition, but I like The Crown better n part because it's real history. That I didn't know much about.
I think it's useful to say to friends, try the Crown, it's a bit better than Downton Abbey if you want them to see it. -

Downton Abbey was, as they said, "Dynasty on Crack". I agree, it was great but only until the end of Season 3. Then, Fellowes started writing just anecdotes. The writing on The Crown is well arranged to make us see a fairy tale, with connections between events and attitudes that seem random, but they're not.
Now, The Crown is beautifully shot, the writing is good, the art direction superb and the acting is great BUT it is NOT fiction, and we kinda know what will happen with the characters just by going to Wikipedia. I'd say, after watching the whole Season 1, that the series has potential to become the next Downton Abbey if they keep with the good writing.
