My god, Tom Cruise is OLD! He's not a young man that can perform the same stunts that he did in the previous films. Also, they are all aging! Aging actors playing assasins who are aging. Ethan is old, Luther is old, Benji is old and Ilsa is older.

Fallout was only a couple years earlier and Cruise did some of his most audacious stunts in that.
In any case the issue is not Cruise doing his own stunts, it’s the plodding 3hr runtimes and the fact that they wrote the films on the fly instead of having tight finished scripts, this leads to confused, convoluted and meandering plotting. The AI villain is too abstract to connect, and Gabriel is a weak human foe, lacking charisma or menace.
All they had to do was follow the successful formula of the best of the previous films. They failed.

Something is wrong with your mind.
All of the sequels are roughly FIVE years apart. Tom was already old in Fallout.
The fucing point is, Tom did a lot of stunt work in Dead Reckoning. There is an entire fight scene with Ethan and 2 bad guys, and him running to save Ilsa. There was the shootout near the beginning when Ethan disguised infiltrated CIA meeting.
There was the cloak and danger scene inside the airport. Benji and Luther diffuse the bomb at the airport.
There was the shootout in the desert when Ethan was trying to save Ilsa.
Gabriel fighting both Ilsa and Grace.
Oh and the introduction: the war on the Russian military submarine.

One moment you’re saying that Cruise is too old…
My god, Tom Cruise is OLD! He's not a young man that can perform the same stunts that he did in the previous films.
But now you’re arguing that he’s still perfectly capable of doing the great stunt work from the previous films 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m glad you’ve come around and now agree with me on that.
As I said, though, Cruise doing stunts was not the problem with the Reckoning films, it’s the plodding 3hr runtimes and the fact that they wrote the films on the fly instead of having tight finished scripts, this leads to confused, convoluted and meandering plotting. The AI villain is too abstract to connect, and Gabriel is a weak human foe, lacking charisma or menace.

Okay I'm not going to explain the English language to you in order to have a debate or argument.
This conversation is over with. Get the fuc out of thread topic. You stated your opinion. It's duly noted. Now go.

Haha! You’re just like AnthonySocksss - I point out where you’re wrong and you have a meltdown 🤷🏻‍♂️
Have you decided whether Cruise is too old to perform his own stunts, or that he’s just as capable as he always was? You got a little confused and started arguing with yourself over this 🙃

Forst of all, I didn't ask for you to participate in my thread!! Did I?
Quote where I asked anyone's opinion of MI Dead Reckoning!
Furthermore, I wasn't wrong. You're just stupid. Why should I give you a lesson in English vernacular before we continue the argument.
You are wrong. I shouldn't even have to state the obvious to you. But I tried to explain it, but then you threw a road block in my face by pretending to not understand English vernacular.
So I'm done. You can go now asshole.

People dump on J.J. but MI:3 is a masterpiece. Unbelievably tense and filled with incredible action scenes, and a killer villain.
I know most people hate 2, and it is indeed the dumb blonde of the series, but I just love the lush visuals, superb John Woo action, transcendent Hans Zimmer score, witty script (by Chinatown writer Robert Towne no less) sexy Thandie Newton and awesome Anthony Hopkins. Cruise was in peak condition too - it was made just before he started to look ‘old’.

MI 2 was the worst of the series. The entire movie was Ethan being Captain Save a Ho. The bitch wore those same ugly jeans 90% of the film.
The action was meh. There wasn't even a comraderie between Luther and Ethan like in the previous film.
By far the worst John Woo movies. I can't believe he sucked so back.

Like in 3, where it’s all about him saving his wife? In fact much more so.

Good. Her ass looked great in those jeans!

Those MI:3 scenes are awesome. The whole film is one great scene after another, beautifully shot, and the action is sublime. Whatever you think of J.J., that guy knows how to create tense-as-**** action sequences that feel visceral and alive.
Right from the gut-wrenching opening of Hunt strapped to a chair, helpless to save his woman as Davian counts to ten when she’ll get a bullet in the head, the film doesn’t let up for a second. It’s one of the most agonisingly tense 2 hours I’ve ever had in a theatre.
