What did you think about it compared to the original?
I appreciated that they stuck to not romanticizing vampires while he retained an element of the regal and resemblance to the images of Vlad Tepes, and they preserved, for lack of a better word, embodying the death and decay.
        I also liked the lilacs.

I've seen all 3 versions and it's my favourite. Orlok feels more evil and the whole thing does dread really well.

What I don't get is him willingly going to his death. Did he do it because he was tired of immortality?
I mean he wouldn't do it out of love for humanity.

I thought it to be that
he was so obsessed and into it that he lost track of dawn.

I don't see it that way. Because Willem Dafoe character mentioned how the girls Blood was different.
And that only her being with him could put an end to Nosferatu and his plague/curse.
Surely a creature who is centuries old also knew of the girls power or ability to destroy him.
Maybe I was just too tired and not paying attention to some of the subtitles.

I would like to see it, but will wait until the streaming price goes down. Right now can only see it on Prime for $19.99 plus tax. I can wait. Same with Wicked.

Absolutely loved this one. Great gloomy-doomy mood and Nosferatu was such a goddamn ****ing hideous beast who's nothing but pure evil and unappeasable appetite. Extra points for that tragically heroic ending. 9 out of 10 from me.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

Fully agree. He was a monster that actually looked monstrous.
