It's where the dad says to the black boyfriend or victim, "I would have voted for Obama again if I could have."
Why is that line controversial?
Hearing it and not knowing what is coming up, shouldn't that be a good thing that he is showing he is not racist?
Or is it considered racist because he is making a point to bring it up to a black guy and trying to impress him?

That doesn't make sense to me.
We think dad is trying to bond or relate to him.
So how is that a wrong line to bond/relate with a black person?

And that's paranoia.
I wouldn't want you around any white friends of mine. I don't really have any right now due to the entire stupid ****ing BLM George Floyd types getting murdered during a routine traffic ticket.
Once the BLM goes away, I'll be able to have white friends again without black people acting ****ing stupid about it.
You're not invited into my circle. -

Do you think the dad just didn't care since he thought he was going to perform a brain transplant?
Like he figured why not pretend to care about the black race?
Perhaps he was socially awkward around blacks because he was using their bodies and didn't care about getting to know them on any intellectual or deeper level.

Yes. The movie wasn't that complicated at all.
It's a white supremacist cult that kidnaps black people in order to exploit the black person's perceived talents. I have no idea what special talent the black house worker was supposed to have. Being a clean freak?
