I'm more excited for this because I read somewhere that it's suppose to address the stereotype of black people dying first in horror movies, the black dude is actually going to be the smartest character.

I was interested to see this when I first heard about it. I got to read the script and I am bummed that it's not really what I expected. The script is horror, but not really. It's more of a thriller, but again not really. Now the movie can change if there are different versions of the script or stuff changing during filming or reshoots.
SPOILERS!!!!!!
The movie is about a black man (Chris), who is getting ready to meet his white girlfriend's parents for the first time. So there's lots of race talk and racial tension that happens. There's a big party, with all the guests being white, excpet one Japanese man. It's a slow burn until he realizes that something isn't right and just when he tries to leave, they drag him to the basement. Then we find out that black men are being kidnapped by these people and they have found a way to do a brain transplant where they put a white person brain, into a black person's body. They throw the black person's brain away. The reason? Because black people have been getting all the bids for the last few years. That's it. No other explanation. It's the stupidest thing ever. So no one finds it odd that rich, white men disappear and black men just all of a sudden take over their businesses? It's a very weak plot that ruins the story.
You could've done more of an Invasion of the Body Snatchers story. Or have the movie be about a young, black man who is being groomed by a billionaire and is going to marry his daughter and that's how they do the brain switch. You have the white guy "die" and he takes over. It just felt like lazy writing. The script ends with the black guy in jail, cause the cops show up and he has blood on him. So however it's spinned, he got framed. But if a secret society that's been kidnapping black men and transplanting brains has the power to do that, they would've just had him killed by someone. I was very let down by the script. -

Wow what a stupid script. Seems like a lame parody rip off of The Invitation. Anyways that "stereotype" about black people dying first in horror films isn't true, it's usually a girl that dies first.

Please tell me you're joking, right?
Where do people get this idea about black folks having all the breaks? That's so not true! How many black folks have won Oscars? How many black folk are millionaire/billionaires that don't play sports? How many presidents that are identified as black have been president other than Obama? How many black folk are heading up large companies like Wal-Mart?
Now if you told me what I presumed the plot of this film is, I would have told you black folks were being lured to this house by promising them jobs (for the two blacks I saw working in the house) and white people were secretly either DE-programming them or doing something to their brains to make black people sub-subservient and turning them into slaves, I would have bought that. I thought that's where the film was going when I saw the bingo cards. I thought they were trying to bring back some form of secret slavery.
So question, where does the daughter/girlfriend fit into this? Does she know about it?
Thank you sharing this with us. I feel like I've just averted a bomb! Its a shame really because the trailer is really good. -
