HOW ARE PEOPLE SAYING THIS LOOKS GOOD

At night, in the deepest darkest corners of your mind, you are scared by this film. Everyone is. And you can't help but be curious.
I never thought this film was really that poignant or had sophisticated social commentary but this film, being a horror film, the race-based plot actually helps the film because it uses very real pre-existing fears as a launch pad.
Now that's based on the trailer. The actual film could be that, or it could just be another buck dancing, bow jangling negro slave film, clowning around, acting a fool and embarrassing the country on the world stage but we will have to wait and see! -

How are you saying it looks bad based on 2 minutes and a clear trailer that is misdirecting people. Yeah, not the greatest trailer, but I'd rather have low expectations than high when it comes to horror movies. Many horror movies have great amazing trailers and the movies themselves are complete beep
I was pleased by a black protag, and then immediately rolled my eyes that of course it had to be about race.
With that said, I love horror movies and 7/10 of them are beep so I'll always give new movies a try on the off hand chance that it may be good. -

I'm going to suspend my high expectations, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to this. The race angle doesn't really bother me because it's not a period piece, and I'd bet that its more nuanced than the trailer leads us to believe.

It's getting rated highly SOLELY because the social commentary is what the Hollywood elite all pander to.
As a movie, it's absurd. It really would have played better as a farce of a horror movies used as a skit on "In Living Color" where Firemarshal Bill tries to steal the Wayan's Brother's brains. -

The "people" saying this looks good are likely just people involved in making and marketing this race baiting, silly. drivel. No reasonable educated person could think this looks good, maybe some dopey young millennial thinks this is so provocative and they are special for being positive about it but that can't be that many. It looks like some awful MTV show.
