Can't We Be Happy

I sadly don't think we will ever see another gilmore girl episode in our future. I think this backlash is going to prevent Amy and Dan from creating more. They finally got to end the story how they always wanted to.

I enjoyed most of the revival. HOWEVER, the last four words SUCKED big time & the lack of any growth on Rory's part was idiotic.
I am glad that Luke & Lorelei are finally married but Rory? Single, broke & pregnant. Blech.
I think this revival showed that ASP has NO fresh ideas. Time to let GG rest in peace & ASP to live off residuals. In my GG world? Those last four words NEVER HAPPENED. -

Broke at the end of episode four, but not much longer after that. Lack of growth? Like mother, like daughter in the sense that Lorelei grew once she became pregnant and as a mother as well and I think it was implied that Rory will be the same. Single, sure, for for now, but later on very soon in the future I think that will change. Those last four words made the whole series come full circle and this will probably bring mother and daughter even closer to one another, but the story wont repeat itself in the sense that I think that Lorelie will support her daughter and not condemn her for becoming pregnant.

There is no reason for Rory to be broke. I guess ASP FORGOT that Trix was going to leave Rory a sizeable inheritance? I also refuse to believe that Richard left nothing for the granddaughter he adored.
Lorelei grew up because she had no choice. Rory has had every opportunity & apparently didn't achieve anything worthwhile despite those opportunities. Spending her time hooking up with Logan & pregnant by Logan? Seriously?
Of course Lorelei will support her daughter, Rory doesn't seem to have grown up enough to support herself.
The story has already repeated itself. Rory = Lorelei; Logan = Christopher; Jess = Luke. Blech & pass. -

I was loving it until the end.
I just don't get it.
I understand Palladino for ending the story with Rory pregnant.but the way it was done was so incredibly depressing. The announcement is this awful bombshell instead of a special moment between Loreli and Rory. -

I'd have rather had nothing than the mess we got and was actually okay with how the original series ended so if they hadn't ever made this debacle I would have been fine.

Agreed. The writers had to fix so much from season 6 and there really weren't any better options. Things really pick up in a great way during the latter half of season 7.

Personally I didn't do any begging. I was fine with the ending of season 7. The season as a whole didn't work for me, but they had to get out of the giant hole the Palladinos left in the wake of their departure.
The actual series finale I enjoyed, Luke and Sookie organizing the party. The Gilmore girls best friends wonderful husbands shielding them from the rain for the goodbye party. Richard's little speech. And finally Luke and Lorelai. It all worked for me. I didn't need it to come back.
For me the last 30 minutes, minus the very last minute of "Fall" I enjoyed. Largely I felt this was lacking the original charm. Once again they just don't seem to know what, or care, to do with Lane. Rory has gets ugly with Lorelai, but once again there are still no consequences, even as an adult. Emily and Lorelai are still sniping at each other. Luke and Lorelai aren't married! WHAT? There's a secret bar, but no Weston's? Lorelai and Michele always went to Weston's, so Michele could eat carbs without judgement!
The best parts for me. Were Sookie, not nearly enough. Lorelai calling Emily to tell her Richard story. And Emily saying "bullsh!t" to her DAR ladies.

Ughhhhh I know! I mean, I get it, maybe it wasn't what we thought, expected or wanted. But it was more. And though I may not agree with every choice I still had a blast watching it. And that was the original series as well. It wasn't perfect, but I love it anyway. People just let their expectations get too high. I think they should step back and appreciate everything we did get, instead of the things we didn't. Because from my perspective, the pro's, the main being that we got more in the first place, far out weigh the cons.
