I LOVED the final four words

I think that's a bit harsh. Yes Rory made some questionable choices, I didn't love the whole Logan situation. But a lot of what she's going through rings true, having her career not go as she had planned and moving back home. And we're all different people than we were when we were young.

I just felt that what they made her in this revival wasn't what her character was and was very disappointing. Especially because now we will never know if she ever amounts to anything and her life is even more complicated.

I'm also wondering, as I wrote down below, what the meaning of those four words might be, if perhaps we are ALL misreading the interpretation behind them and what Rory was exactly going through.
My thought if they have another revival is the following possible spoiler:
What if Rory is pregnant with Luke and Loralei's child, per as was talked about between her and Jess, even just what seemed in passing, in episode 3, Summer? She could have still slept with Logan even if pregnant in episode 4, and yes thought she might be but not so sure. -

I think it would have worked at the end of Season 7, but not now, over a decade later. ASP was hell bent on ending things the way she wanted but disregarded the huge time gap in between. At 32 years old, Rory really should have known better.

Well to be fair to Amy, the 'final four words' kind of took on a life of their own and fans have been dying to know how she'd intended the show to end, soshe didn't really have much of a choice about excluding or changing them now.

I am also starting to be convinced that perhaps the meaning of the final four words are being very misinterpreted by many of us, in terms of the character development for Rory. And this comes through hints spread throughout the four episodes, but especially something said by Paris to Rory, Paris to Loralei, Rory to Jess and Loralei to Luke. What if (and definite spoiler here if I'm correct)
Rory is pregnant with Luke and Loralei, she decided to step in as the surrogate? In that regard Rory is being just like Rory that we've seen all along. If I'm correct. And yes that would make for a great story line in another revival. -

I'm not so sure I loved those final four words, but I just thought of where those final four words may actually make a lot of sense, and how it might NOT be as bad of a story line development for Rory to have said them.
And here comes a spoiler of what they might mean if there is a further revival:
And there was some hints of this throughout the four episodes: What if Rory is pregnant with Luke and Loralei's child? The one that even Rory told Jess in episode 3, she was wondering if she should become one of Paris' baby carriers?
Now, talk about your full circle, that would definitely be so for this whole entire series! -

Just finished the last episode and although i knew WHAT the final 4 words were, i was completely surprised by WHO said them. I thought it would be Lorelai, never even thought about Rory. How strange is that??

Well, you were one-quarter correct, since Lorelai said one of the final four words ("Yeah?"), Rory the other three. Really though I'm not sure why we don't just refer to "the final two words", since it strikes me that the previous two are somewhat less interesting.

See, the four words would make sense if that's what the original show as about. It wasn't. The original show was always about finding your own path. Lorelai went back to her parents but during the show she never wanted to include them or be a part of that life again. Rory went to the good school and university that Lorelai never went to. Even at the time, it would have been very strange for Rory to tell Lorelai she was pregnant. It just doesn't makes any sense to me.

I think the series was about those things as well, but the core of the show was about a bond between a mother and daughter. I completely understood what ASP was doing when she wrote that. I think it would've been much better as a finale for the original series, but such is life.
