Ho bag is about the same thing. I hate the word slut. Reason why no one harps on logan also being a ho bag, is not because he's a guy but the main and very critical reason is of course rory and lorelai are the absolute main characters in this show, logan is not. A very simple but critical point that I am shocked that anyone could miss. The name of this show is the gilmore girls not the logan show and most people don't wwant her to end up with him.

You're missing my wider point. Men who have a lot of sex, or cheat on their partners, are not treated the same way as women in the same situation. When we react on something on TV, we easily default to our society's biases.
How many partners has Logan had? How many of those were just one-night stands? He slept with basically all of his sister's friends. He cheated on Rory, and now he's cheating on Odette. People seem way more judgmental of Rory. In fact, Logan is the least trustworthy of her three boyfriends, but many fans still think they're meant to be.
I never claimed that this show is "about Logan", but I think that is a moot point. My theory is that even if this were The Logan Huntzberger Variety Hour, people would still be calling Rory a slut, because she's the woman. I can't prove it in this case, so believe what you will, I guess.

He never cheated on Rory, he thought they were broken up.

Of course men and women who have lots of partners are not treated the same, and for good reason. That has nothing to do with societal bias lol
And the fact that you don't even understand the irony in what you're saying makes me speculate that you probably lack perspective and objectivity.

I get what you're saying in general and it's true. But this isn't about that this is about the actions of one of the two main leads in a show and she is quite selfish, hung up on her own notions of self importance and also deceitful. I can't root for a character like that whether that character is male or female. In making your point you're wrongly accusing everyone who calls rory out as sexist. That reflects your own biases. The fact is this really isn't the logan show most people commenting here r fans of gilmore girls and they have a damn right to call out something on this show without considering how people view cheaters on other shows.

The thing I protest is the constant use of the word "slut". I'm sick of seeing it in thread titles. There are multiple threads only about how "slutty" Rory is. I still argue this is misogynistic.
However, I'm not complaining about calling Rory out on her behavior. I agree completely that people have a right to critique her. In fact, I think she's a terribly entitled, lazy, and arrogant person in the revival. I also think it's wrong to have sex with an engaged man, especially when you also have a boyfriend. I have responded to threads here making that very point.
So I wasn't meaning to censor anyone's opinions about Rory, I just don't like the S word and how easily it is thrown around when it comes to female characters.

Logan and Dean are clearly reprehensible people for cheating on their fiance/spouse with the heroine of our story, and I agree it makes all the characters unsympathetic. Clearly Logan is accustomed to always getting what he wants, but it sure would have been a great opportunity to deepen his character, to see him feeling remorse over his infidelity, or if his loquacious friends gave him a Shakespearean beatdown.

I don't like Rory's cheating. That's all it's about for me. I have been equally critical of Dean and Logan; it's just that Rory happens to be one of the main characters so she's talked about more often in general. Cheating is such a yucky thing to do. I don't like it in real life, and I don't like seeing it in fiction.

I agree with you, I do not condone what Rory did but I think the name calling on this board is way too much. It's a show, and there are far worse characters on TV than Rory.

I think what bothers me and frankly a lot of people is that Amy's portrayal of 32 year old Rory is very uncharacteristic of her especially when you compare this to season 7 Rory who is in a mature and committed relationship. But you know her and Dan didn't write that so
Rory always had a high moral compasshigher than her own mother. Which sometimes was the irony of their relationship. Yeah Rory had her affair with Dean but in general she was a serial monogamist and wasn't a habitual cheater. She never does anything like her first time after season 4.
Amy and Dan have her being a cheater, the other woman and someone who can't fight for what she wants at 32. Season 7 Rory would have told Logan she loved him, wanted more and wouldn't be forgetting about Paulbecause there would be no Paul.
Name calling is not right. However, this storyline was not right either.

Rory also mildly cheated on Dean with Jess before the whole Dean mess. It was emotionally cheating instead of physical (aside from the kiss), but still walking that line. So she did show the signs of a habitual cheater even early on.
I think ASP likes Rory having flaws. I just wish it wasn't THIS flaw. Cheating is just so disrespectful to everyone involved and reeks of low self esteem and selfishness. I wanted more for Rory. I wanted her and Logan together, but not like that.

This part I 100% agree with. I think Rory did grow and mature throughout the seven seasons and would have preferred an honest relationship with Logan. Revival!Rory showed quite the character regression.

Its not so much that she's a slut
but why at 32 is she making so many bad decisions
                          like some female version of a man-child (a woman-child?) She's regressed.

Well, she cheats on her partners, has absolutely no remorse, has no regard for his feelings, or Logan's fiance's feelings. What else would you call a woman who has absolutely no moral standards? She only thinks about and for herself. She was behaving like a high-price escort.

I really don't think someone who slept with a married man and and engaged man can be called a "prude". And I wouldn't call someone with many sexual partners - but one at a time, and none of them with commitment to other people - a slut.
But hey, I guess morality is relative.

It's not about the number of sexual partners. It's about the fact that she was deflowered by a married man and at 32 she's having an affair with an engaged man with whom she cheats on her boyfriend who she constantly 'forgets' after 2 years of being together. And she doesn't feel bad about any of this, at all. I don't care how boring Paul is, the least she owes him is a proper break-up, if he was interesting enough to start a relationship with in the first place.
Lorelai's had her moments, but at least she had a bad conscience most of the time. All Rory does is whine to her mother whenever she screws something up.
She's entitled to have as much sex as she wants, and that is OKAY! However, she's a serial cheater with a holier-than-thou attitude.
In my eyes, she pretty much fits the definition of a slut.

She's not a slut but screwing Logan while he was engaged to another woman wasn't exactly a high point for her morally speaking, and it bothered me a bit that she had zero issues with it. Then again its not the first time Rory has slept with an engaged/married man, so clearly a conscience was one more thing she hasn't developed since we saw her last. That's some awesome parenting, Lorelei.

Not to excuse them, but from my observation people are essentially misusing the word to express their disappointment with Rory's utter lack of character and self-respect (in sleeping with an engaged man while being in a relationship herself).
I'd rather call Rory a piece of beep for her behaviour, myself. Logan's a beep too.

Logan is just as big of a tool as Rory (though I always disliked him, myself). The point is we are watching a show centered around two women. I absolutely agree that women are blamed far more often for affairs (regardless of who is cheating on their spouse/so) and they often receive more social repercussions. That said, you can't blame that for the disappointment on these threads about this character. It's not about the one night stand - that was about 1 of 3 moments where I smirked in this revival, personally (I was disappointed overall). It's about the fact that her moral compass (as was previously stated) is completely gone. She doesn't care about what she is doing or who she is hurting. She is lying to her mother this whole time, cheating on her boyfriend, cheating with an engaged man and pretty much every social interaction is her thinking she is better than what is around her. There is nothing wrong with making characters more human; flawed. They have made Rory impossible to like, which makes the 'seasons' hard to watch. That is, essentially, why people are speaking out against her choices.
