Has Alexis always been such a bad actress?

I guessed I never noticed it because it fit her "cute and innocent" personality. But I imagined that this would fade when she'd grow up.
Oh who am I kidding. If the revival taught us anything it is that she never really grew up, at least not with realistic expectations of the world.

She's never been the best actress, in my opinion. She's definitely very pretty, and she has that going for her, obviously, but I've seen her in a couple other moviesand she's always 'just OK'. Not horrible, but not a revelation or anything. I think she certainly looks like she could be related to Lauren Graham though; so they nailed that part of casting.
I agree with whoever said that she's eclipsed by Lauren Grahamand if you specifically go back and look at the 'Sisterhood of Traveling Pants' movies; I think she's eclipsed by the other actresses there, too. (The standout in both of those films is Amber Tamblyn as Tibby, I think, but I digress)
She does come off more reserved/wooden in a lot of her scenes - no matter which movie she's in. Part of it could just be her natural personality shining through, but I do find her awkward to watch sometimes because her line delivery can be kind of stilted. -

Alexis was a much better actor when she was young. She was more natural and played the part of Rory well. As she got older she seemed to become too self conscious and distant. Heaven forbid if anyone tries to hug her. It must have felt like trying to hug a wooden statue.
I remember posting something on the original series board a couple of years ago about how bad she was in a scene where she was supposed to have a bit of a melt down (can't remember if it was season 6 or 7), and I pretty much got slammed by all the Alexis Lovers.
She has become a passable actor now that she is more mature, as long as she is not required to stretch herself too much or do anything too emotional or dramatic. She will never win any awards I'm afraid. -

I think she fit the original rory role and so she did well in the earlier seasons but she's not good in anything else I've seen her in. People who thought she didn't act well in a year in the life but is sooo pretty are we seeing the same person??? She looks ok at best and there is no way any of those hunks would be still so hung up on her for her personality is sure is lacking. Lauren graham on the other hand: great actress and beautiful. Though she didn't age well.

Out of her 3 boyfriends, Jess being unable to get over is the only one that is remotely plausible. He really struggles with letting people in, so after he let Rory in I could see it being hard for him to let her go.
In real life, Dean and Logan would both move on pretty easily from Rory. -

Considering after 10 years she and Logan have not stopped sleeping with each other, what makes you think it will be easy for him to move on and just forget Rory and not want to be with her? Jess and Rory have not had a relationship in over ten years, but they have remained friends and obviously support each other. Nothing wrong with just having that without a romantic connection.

Ha, I actually thought she was a little bit better than usual herenot that that's saying much. She's never been a good actress and if anything has only gotten more stilted and wooden as she's gotten older (see
Mad Men
). On the plus side, she's still purdy AF.
