She can add this stinker to her resume. As much as I enjoyed her one scene, she should've avoided this at all costs.

It also sounded like she was sick (had a cold) in her scene. Must have been a miserable experience all around.

^^ Actually it seems either McCarthey was putting on a girlier voice in the show's original run, or her voice has in recent years developed with age into a trailer park granny sitting near her compost heap in a rocking chair loading up her rifle.
Personally she was one of my favourites thanks to GG but now she's dead to me. That wasn't Sookie in the revival, that was the same pod devil that still keeps The Simpson's body animated while it's soul died decades ago. Foul temptress it is.

Nah it wasn't even the pitch, it just seemed really nasally.

She sounded TOTALLY different! It really yanked me out of the scene.

Let's face it, everyone's voice was weird. Rory totally weirded me out. Her voice was an entire octave lower! And the number of words per minute was also lower. Because there was no dialogue!
Ooooh, that's why the voices were lower! They sloooooowed it down to extend the screen time!!!

No, I'm so glad that she was able to be a part of this. I wonder if there is any animosity with her and the rest of the cast. Her career has skyrocketed since the original Gilmore Girls.

I'm quite sure this is her normal voice and she previously put on the higher tone during the seven seasons. I liked her scene, was great to see her as Sookie again.

I don't know who she was, but it wasn't Sookie.
Not even the same voice or speech pattern.
And I thought that Alexis Bledel was the only one not able to get back into character.

My guess is that ASP NEVER thought Melissa would be the one with the big career out of this cast.I thought Melissa did just fine as Sookie.
