Most of those complaints revolve around the appearance of the CGI characters. “It treats the animals that Snow White finds in the woods with the same photorealistic CGI that was used in the most recent Lion King remake, which has the effect of transforming helpful woodland creatures into literal vermin. And then there are the dwarves. My God, the dwarves,” the writer continues.
“The new Snow White dwarves look like someone has snuck into Disneyland, grabbed the statues from Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and wrapped them in human flesh, as a serial killer would with a gift for their mother. They look like something a seaside caricaturist would draw of someone they openly hated. They look like animatronic figures that were struck by lightning and came to life before the fire was put out. They look like someone has shaved the Sonic the Hedgehog from that first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer that everyone hated,” The Guardian writer says, adding that they serve as “nightmare fuel.”

Lots of other Didney movies have nightmare fuel for little kids; Fantasia, the original Snow White, Bambi, etc. Little kids get triggered easily by images.

is it too woke to hire little people now? i thought inclusion was including everyone (as long as its white female x black male couple)?
i'm not an anti-woke chud. i'm just confused.
disney also did this for wonka remake 1 movie with one guy playing all the little persons
and also the wonka remake 2 where they got hugh grant to play a little person -

I actually think this looks like the first live action remake by Disney I might be interested in watching. It seems pretty slick and stylish, but in a cool way. The only thing off putting for me is the songs. I'm not a musical person.

They don’t look nightmarish to me. A lot of these fairy tails have been sanitized when made into movies. Read the originals. They were all meant to be cautionary tales for children. Scare them into being good.
As to hiring real life “little people” to play them, I don’t think there are enough SAG holding little members to fill those requirements. Of course, they could hire children to play them.
