I'm guessing they'll be throwing out the Sarah Connor and Arnie storyline and replacing them with younger alternatives which can last another 5 movies.

Anytime a franchise is brought back after an absence, they call it a reboot now, even if the actual story maintains continuity.
This movie is one of those idiotic "sequel that ignores previous sequels" crap. So it doesn't really matter what they call it.

i guess even with star wars they were "rebooting" the franchise with a sequel. you can use both words here too.
yeah that ignoring other sequel thing seems to be the thing now.

I don't think you need him back in the role. John Conner has been portrayed by more than one actor and they already showed an older John Conner briefly in Terminator 2 and he looked nothing like Edward Furlong.

its being called a reboot because its not a sequel to Genisys. this way audiences know that this is a film that can be seen without having to watch Genisys,Salvation, or Rise of the Machines. It is a sequel only in that it keeps the original 2 films in continuity.
