Disasters?
that's a bit melodramatic.
They must have used some kind of program to import these streams from another site. It would be impossible or at least take forever to them to manually add each and every movie like that. I guess people can just bring the wrong ones to their attention like you have? -

I'm sorry but some stupid latino pop nonsense instead of even a trailer for
Come to Daddy
is most definitely a disaster. I don't even know how something like that would even get on a movie site when it has nothing to do with movies. The rest I can see how it went wrong. "The Devils" and "The Devils Rejects" at least have something in the title in common. -

Oh it's MILES better than
Only God Forgives
. I actually don't mind that movie, but that's probably because I REALLY like Winding Refn movies, going all the way back to the
Pusher
trilogy. I even loved
The Neon Demon
, which is one that not that many would agree is great. I thought it pretty amazing, but then that might be one for the ladies. I don't think guys would really
get
that movie. I've loved all his movies, but 'd say that
Only God Forgives
is his most challenging to like.
The only thing it has in common with
Mandy
is maybe colour palette. They're both slow, but
Only God Forgives
is almost excrutiatingly slow.
Mandy
at least has some bite to it. It's a revenge movie for the books! And the prettiest one at that. -

I guess I'll have to get to it, then.
Was Valhalla Rising worth watching? I've been aware of that movie ever since 2014 but still haven't watched it. It was going to be my intro to Refn, but I ended up watching Only God Forgives last night. -

OMG I LOVED
VALHALLA RISING
!!!! It's slow, but HOLY SHIT Mads Mikkelsen OWNED that movie and didn't speak a ****ing word. WELL worth it. But you have to be in the mood for something slow and ****ed up.
Mandy
is also slow and ****ed up, but it's a different thing.
Wait. Is
Only God Forgives
your first Refn? If so…MY APOLOGIES!!! It's probably his worst. -

Yes, well that was probably my mistake. I don't think the narrative was all that hard to follow, and I didn't mind it being slow. I just didn't care for the plot or the characters.
I'll put both of the other movies on a watch list. -

Yeah me neither. I LOVE Refn, but you're right. Not enough "I give a **** about this". It was just a bit of eye candy and he's better than that. Valhalla Rising was quite something though. "One Eye" and all that. I can understand it not being for everyone though. I'd say Refn's easiest to connect with would be something like the
Pusher
trilogy or
Drive
.
Pusher
is not slow. It's probably one of the few of his that isn't. But it's also Denmark sleeze. Very good stuff. -

Drive seemed to pickup a bit more mainstream popularity, if I recall correctly. But with Bladerunner 2049 (which I actually liked) and Only God Forgives, I think I've seen enough of Ryan Gosling acting pensive.
