Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kraven the Hunter

If Spider-Man doesn't appear in this movie or at least in an after credits scene the people will riot in the streets! From the trailer, it doesn't look like he will, except at the 2:07 mark we see a scene with Kraven laying on his back in the jungle, and hundreds of spiders descending from the trees above him on their weblines. This is very symbolic of the imagery in perhaps the greatest Spider-Man story ever told, Kravens Last Hunt. This is an origin story for Kraven, so it's very likely it's just setting up for a second movie, which will be based on that story. So I would guess if Spider-Man does show up it will be in an after credits scene.
This movie looks like it's going to suck though, so just like Morbius, that should have had but lacked Spider-Man completely, a second movie isn't likely to happen. This looks more like a weird action movie, and minus Spider-Man actually appearing, it's just not going to appeal to a lot of people. Also looks like they got Rhino in the trailer. Nobody asked for that or cares about that character. None of this is going to drive ticket sales.
Sony owns the rights to make Spider-Man and every Spider-Man property, and they seem to be determined to blow that goldmine with these lame origin stories for classic Spider-Man villains instead of just dumping them into a Spider-Man story that people want to see. Morbius would have been a big deal if they had done that. Kravens Last Hunt movie would be huge. In the original story Kraven became obsessed with Spider-Man, and used "jungle herbs" to enhance himself, which also made him extremely nuts. He hunted Spider-Man down and "killed" him by using poison tipped darts that left him paralyzed and like in a coma. Then he buried him alive and spent a week dressing up as Spider-Man, taking his place, to prove he was a better Spider-Man than Spider-Man. Satisfied with his work, he then proceeded to blow his head off with a shotgun. That's a movie I would pay to see, not this dumb ****. Even though I definitely will. I just won't be happy about it. I'll probably end up rating this movie about a 3 or 4 out of 10.

This Kraven seems like a pussy crying about his dad and trying to do good for the world. Fuck that.

lol yeah but he's definitely not trying to do good.
as the trailer says, Villains aren't born…
Make no mistake, this is the origin story of a villain. They may try to make him somewhat sympathetic, but that doesn't change.
I have no idea how they think they are going to sell tickets to this ****. I predict this is the biggest box office bomb of the year, maybe all time. The only way that can change is if they start dropping Spider-Man in the trailers. It doesn't even have to be Tom Holland Spider-Man, Toby McGuire would make more sense, or even the other dude.

          I'll definitely watch it.
Though don't know yet what my rating probably will be.
