They spoilt the whole plot in the first trailer ! That's just idiotic. Also Russel Crowe's voice had that richness and gravitas which sold him as part of that historical setting.
Not liking Paul Mescal's voice at all, it feels like such a mismatch, though he's a decent actor, this trailer doesn't sell him well at all. It doesn't feel like he belongs in that time period. Hope Denzel delivers in the movie, but he seems to be overacting in parts of this trailer. Pedro Pascal seems pretty good here. Loving Connie Nielsen's return. She's aged so gracefully.
Also it's clear these producers didn't realize just how important the soundtrack was in Gladiator. This music doesnt give me the feeling of being transported to Roman era even for a second.
