I've not seen Andor but they make it sound a little bit better than I thought it might be.
    Enjoy!

How can they not have done so little on Star Wars for the past 7 years? Star Wars is the only reason they exist.

From memory it was The Last Jedi that made them drop the entire facade of caring about the franchise.
They didn't even do The Rise of Skywalker
Sometimes it's good just to let things die, keeps the memories of when they were good from being spoiled

mike and jay have bad taste in films, and are bad at being consistent as critics.
they called star wars 2009 a rape and then recommended it. and then when khan came out they were all "we got fooled!" "star trek 2009 is bad" so dumb.
they had to eat their words on star wars after , in the plinkett review, they said jj abrhams should direct star wars.
they are bad at filmmaking (space cop) and at suggesting directors (jj abrahms).
i like their plinkett reviews but they dont do those anymore. nerd crew was also funny. HITB/review/BOTW stuff is all garbage. their commentaries are also not great, subscribe to rifftrax instead.

I think Jay can be a little pretentious in his appreciation of movies. Mike is more a cinema guy but even he has choices that I don't agree with.
But the same goes for The Critical Drinker, Angry Video Game Nerd, Beyond The Trailer and other entertaining pundits willing to share their thoughts with the world.
As long as I enjoy the overall content I'm not too fussed about whether or not I agree with the opinion on the art in question.
I don't know of Rifftrax yet Dompn, so thanks for the recommendation!

The Filthy Critic hasn't updated their site for a while it would seem.
I've just read a few of their reviews and it seems to be fairly balanced and accessible stuff
The Vern site looks proper hardcore, lots of movies which I haven't heard of. I'll keep an eye on that site and see what comes up (Although they liked the new Roadhouse movie, which is cool enough but it's a terrible remake of a much more superior movie).
                Again, thanks for sharing!

Andor is actually really decent. In fact if they MUST milk these franchises then TV shows are the way forward for me. TV has come a long way and we don’t need more films.

Andor, for me at least, is like people saying Picard season 3 Bobby
At some point it's either a sympathy watch for the love of the franchise or it's an example of too little too late from the creators.
I know how the story of Andor ends as I've seen Rogue One and so that's a little stickler for me. That said Rogue One was made to be immersive enough for a backstory and so it follows suit that there is one
I agree that TV is better these days Bobby, but I still think that telling a story magic has lost its way since the Millennium.
I appreciate things like soap operas are ongoing stories that never end (Which is why I don't watch them) but stories should always have an end. Even if the same characters and situations reappear for more stories afterwards. A story is what you get before bed, not something you sleep to get to the next part of

You mentioning the stories which never have an end is why I stopped reading mainstream superhero comics, Juan. Back in the 90s I loved them and honestly felt like each story mattered that I was reading. It turned out however that nothing ever changed and characters who died in so called seminal storylines just come back to life at some point. In fact I picked up an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man to look through when in Forbidden Planet Manchester the other day and Peter Parker is still doing the same old ****.
Andor does have Trevor from EastEnders who shoved Little Mo’s face in the turkey and mash on Christmas Day, so that’s interesting. 😊

Why did nobody tell me that Trevor was in Andor?
He's my favourite South African pretending to be a Glaswegian ever Bobby
Right, I'm in no rush to sign up to Disney again but when I do I'll be checking out Andor
As for mainstream comics, they've tried to conclude certain characters across the years Bobby but the money is always in people wanting to see them return. We've had Superman, Wolverine, the Flash, Spidey, Batman and Captain America all die - only to come back to life for some reason.
Even Robin got killed off (By public vote) and came back as a semi-bad guy years later because that's what sells the books.
Think of Sherlock Holmes or that older one with the guy who got crucified that everyone is celebrating today. It's just a means to get people to invest in the story and buy the new ones that justify it
I like a story to have an end - whatever that might be. And even Sherlock got that rubbish 'His Last Bow' to fully finalise it. Johnny Alpha may very well still be dead (And should be!) but with time travelling he can still have adventures before then.
Stupid writers wasting fan's time with shoddy writing…

Yes Jason Todd Robin came back because one of the Superman’s started punching the walls of reality in a temper tantrum or something. Comics are silly. 🙂
They did bring back Johnny Alpha and continued his adventures but the strip has been largely retired since the death of Carlos Esquerra. It’s just occasional one offs now by other creative teams which are set in Johnny’s past with Wulf. Remember Wulf? 🙂

                            Do I remember Wulf!?!!?
But yeah, Robin came back because Ra's-al-ghul took responsibility for his death at the hands of the Joker back in the 80's and dipped him in some rebirth goop that drove him mad (But he's fine now!).

But that was all caused by a Superman punching the walls of reality whilst having a hissy fit, right? 🙂

I like small local stores, nothing against FP but it's far too mainstream and caters to populism (Which is fine, but not unusual enough for my tastes).

It wasn’t any of the main Superman’s…hang on I’ve found it, it was actually a Superboy.

I’m not that keen on Fobidden Planet either, Juan.
I enjoyed it back in the 90s when geek culture really was geek culture. These days though it’s just narrow aisles filled with endless ‘pop culture’ tat.

I think Superboy and Robin used to hang about in their own offshoot set of comics. I read them online once (Just to say that I did) and it was very 1970's kinda stuff 🤔

Well you have three different types of Superboy I think.
There’s the one who was a younger Superman back when he was still in Smallville (this was pre-Crisis continuities I think).
Then you have the Superboy’s who exist alongside Superman and team up with him from time to time (ie that clone, Clark’s son etc. these tend to exist in post crisis continuities).
Then you have Superboy Prime who as far as I understand it is like Capaldo. He knows it’s all fictional and will happily break the fourth wall and change continuity as a result.
My DC comics knowledge is very sketchy as I was more of a Marvel person growing up but others can feel free to correct me. 🙂

The ones I read were just Superboy being awesome and going on day trips with Robin doing teenage hero adventures like bank robberies and the like with one story where they had to save their dads (Stepdad if you are like that) and go surfing at the end.
Not really my thing but harmless enough stuff for alter boys to read before mass
