    Will this institution survive the stench that this creates in the public perception that the Constitution and its reading are just political acts? I don’t see how it is possible. It’s what Casey talked about when they talked about watershed decisions. Some of them, Brown vs. Board of Education it mentioned and this one, have such an entrenched set of expectations in our society: If this is what the court decided, this is what we will follow. That we won’t be able to survive if people believe that everything, including New York vs. Sullivan.
    I could name any other set of rights, including the Second Amendment by the way.
    There are many political people that believe the court erred in seeing this as a personal right as opposed to a militia right. If people actually believe that this is all political, how will we survive? How will the court survive?

    Because I was not a Socialist
    Then they came for the trade unionists

        Yes I agree with her wholeheartedly. And her remark about the Second Amendment emphasizes her argument beautifully.

                Good luck getting that message across to republicans who have no regard for democracy. The only reason we have to deal with a 6-3 conservative court is because they obstructed democracy and blocked Obama's nominee.

                  True, very true. I do believe the majority of voters are getting wise to the "republican's" game, and those few clowns remaining will be out of office next year.

                    Like all liberal hypocrites, Sotomayor quotes The Constitution when it suits her purpose and shreds it when it does not.
                    The only stench in the Supreme Court is the one emanating from her office.
                    This could just as well apply to the Marxists in the Congress who crush dissent and free thought that does not agree with their ideology.
