I think most people absolutely adore her voice. I recognize this is a "me" thing. There's something specifically with me and I've found that it's either a pitch, frequency, vibration, or something, I'm not sure, but I have reactions to high pitched voices (singing or speaking) or certain instruments (like very whiny guitar sounds - but even this is not specific as I can listen to some, and be fine, and yet others, like certain Hendrix songs), will give me brain freeze and I'll get an actual headache or migraine. It extends beyond, "Nah, I don't fancy this," and goes well into, "This is causing me severe head pain!"

Yes! You get it! It
totally
goes beyond not just liking a song, or even
dis
liking a song, but there's a
visceral
reaction that happens that is beyond your control, a physiological response that just occurs that's very painful and once it starts, it's irreversible. If I only hear it for a few seconds, I can usually avert it, but if I'm subjected to it for a minute or more, that's it. I'm in for a rough ride. I've even tried things like putting cotton in my ears trying to buffer or dampen the sound, but even that doesn't work. I can't fully explain it, but you hit the nail on the head!

Yes, it's definitely something. I just don't know enough about it or understand it enough to know if it's related to pitch (like certain hertz), frequency, range, tone, notes, etc. I don't know enough about the intricacies and specifics of music, nor do I know enough about what it is that triggers these attacks of mine, I just know immediately when they hit me. My body will react within seconds, and if I'm exposed for "too long," (which isn't long), I also get the nausea, and all the other symptoms of a migraine including blindness in one eye, auras, spots, nausea and major head pain.
So, yeah, as I said, this isn't as simple as, "nah, I don't really care for this song," but is more like, I gotta get outta this place, turn the song off, whatever it takes to not be listening to this sound. It sucks when it's just a portion of the song because sometimes, that's all it takes.
