β 5 years ago(June 08, 2020 11:52 AM)I donβt care for either one
β
οΈ most of the founding fathers were racists but in our American textbooks kids are brainwashed into thinking they were heroes. They literally wrote the constitution to exclude anyone who wasnβt a white ,wealthy land owner. They didnβt want women to have rights. Why should I honor either one of them with a ****ing statue?

β 5 years ago(June 09, 2020 04:06 AM)Gameboyβs argument is using other examples of historically relevant statues( that donβt reasonably offend anybody) to justify leaving the offensive ones up. Itβs not a logical assessment of the problem. Nobody is offended by a Julius Caesar statue, but black people 100% have the right to be offended by statues paying homage to confederate figures. They took up arms against this country in a civil war fighting to keep people enslaved and lost .
Itβs a simple concept. The βlearn from historyβ argument doesnβt fly because you donβt need a commemorative statue to learn history.

β 5 years ago(June 09, 2020 11:16 AM)The founding fathers mostly racists who crafted the constitution to exclude anyone who wasnβt a rich, white, land owner. They donβt deserve statues either. I addressed this to Gameboy.

Because they're
part of history
. History contains both good and bad. It's not all sunshine and unicorns. You can't pick and choose which facts you will acknowledge, and which you will discard, simply because you don't like them.
The Radical Left is attempting to
ERASE HISTORY
here!
You're being very narrow minded here.

β 5 years ago(June 09, 2020 04:15 AM)Shocking that an old white guy is not offended by racist statues. Why does YOUR opinion even matter? Itβs βpart of history β is such a reductive statement missing the point. Itβs RACIST history.

Well first of all, the fact that you mentioned my race is well,
racist.
So we've established that
you're a racist.
And then you go on to say that my opinion doesn't matter. That's arrogance. So now we've established that
you're arrogant.
As to the statues being
"racist",
how can a statue be racist? That makes no sense whatsoever. Do they show members of one race mistreating members of another race? No, they do not. So now we've established that
you're stupid.
So you've revealed your true self here: you're
racist, arrogant and stupid
. I would be ashamed if I were you.
And besides, who has the right to determine that a statue is
"racist"?
Oh yeah, it's you, cause you have great credentials: You're
racist, arrogant and stupid!

I think itβs silly. I doubt most black people look highly upon this. A lot of black people I know are embarrassed by the βmovement.β
George Floyd was a drug addict and a criminal. Hardly the type of guy a movement would typically be based on. This is irrelevant to your op yet I post it anyways.
Stop.
