Good one from Kyle Kulinski. It's always fun to see weaselly Ben Shapiro get his ass handed to him on a platter. While Shapiro is correct about Communism leading to death and destruction, he overlooks TWO important facts:
- Once and for all: Bernie is not a Bolshevik/Marxist/Communist, he's a mild mannered "democratic socialist". He wants to turn America into a social democracy like Sweden or Denmark, not a 'dictatorship of the proletariat' like the Soviet Union or North Korea. BIG DIFFERENCE, brahs. Higher taxes for social programs that benefit the many and giving workers more rights is NOT the same thing as abolishing private ownership and confiscating hard-earned wealth at the barrel of a gun. Social democracy =/= Communism.
- Ben Shapiro's
neoconservative ideology
has already led to the deaths of nearly one million people in the Middle East, plunged an entire region into chaos and helped to give rise to ISIS – and this is only within the last twenty years. Twenty more years of this insane ideology-cum-foreign policy and we might witness World War III. So Shapiro is one to talk about destructive ideologies and "killing a few people" to achieve an outcome. lol

Do you think democratic socialism would work in a country as big and diverse as America?
It can be problematic to centralize when the people of your country live in vastly different population densities, climates, etc. Each region of the US has different cultures, ways of life, and needs. -

True, I agree. Anything too radical would be problematic but I don't think Bernie's plan is to "centralize" to the point of eradicating (or changing) different cultures, customs, and ways of life. There will still be free enterprise, private ownership, and regional/local autonomy. Under "democratic socialism" i.e. social democracy, big corporations and multinationals will be hit the hardest while mom and pop businesses - that are so important to the lifeblood of many communities - will flourish. If anything, monopoly capitalism with its Walmarts, strip malls and fast food franchises is a bigger threat to the survival of local communities, customs and cultures than the kind of "socialism" proposed by Bernie.
Bernie simply wants to expand the social safety net, implement a national healthcare system, make the 1% pay their fair share, and end the costly and unnecessary wars. Also, if we cut our military budget in half (as both Bernie and Ron Paul have proposed), we'd still have the largest military in the world but we'd have a lot more money left over for things like healthcare, education and infrastructure repair, etc. This would benefit the vast majority of Americans.
As Pat Buchanan, a paleoconservative, has said again and again, we need to rein in the American Empire not expand it. I think some conservatives, nationalists and right-leaning folk could embrace certain aspects of democratic socialism. I'm not a 'Bernie Bro' or even a leftist, but I think Bernie is the best candidate running at the moment because he is putting the national interest first unlike the orange clown in the White House. (That said, I completely disagree with Bernie's views on immigration but that's another issue entirely. I never said the guy was perfect.) -

Lol, how? Bernie will kill these immediately with his idiotic minimum wage ideas.
monopoly capitalism with its Walmarts, strip malls and fast food franchises
None of those are monopolies. Monopolies only tend to form when econimically illiterate politicians like Bernie Sanders start getting involved.
is a bigger threat to the survival of local communities, customs and cultures than the kind of "socialism" proposed by Bernie.
That's not true at all.
make the 1% pay their fair share
Define "fair share." What percent of someone's earned income is fair to steal? Bernie won't define it, because in his head it's close to 100%.
Also, if we cut our military budget in half
I'm sure there's plenty of waste in the military we can cut, but the military makes up about 16% of our budget, Medicare, Medicaid, SS and welfare programs make up I believe close to 70%, and you morons want to increase that?
I'm sorry, dude, but your idea of "a Socialist loonbag with a magic wand will save us" is nothing but nonsense. Capitalism has created more wealth and prosperity than any other system ever, has pulled half the globe out of poverty in the last century. Socialism has never created anything, it only steals and redistributes what Capitalism has created, until it completely sucks the soul out of society until the country is destroyed and everyone is in poverty except your fraudulent politicians. But hey, a lot of income equality there! There is a long long history of the failures of Socialism, and Bernie has a history of supporting all of those failed countries. Fuck Bernie, he's a terrible person and has made a large portion of the population dumber.

Bernie is not a Bolshevik/Marxist/Communist
Except he is. He's got a very long history of praising Marxist/Communist nations and having nothing but utter disdain for the US. There isn't anything Bernie hasn't wanted to nationalize, even these countries mentioned that Bernie claims to want to model(even though his policies don't reflect those countries but rather Venezuela, Cuba, Soviet Union) have come out and corrected Bernie and told them he's completely wrong about their economies. Those countries recognize the wonders of Capitalism, they just have a massive welfare state. Bernie never says anything positive about Capitalism, because his entire life he had opposed it and praised Communism. Bernie is a career useless person who appeals to the least intelligent, most gullible people who can be tricked by the promise of free stuff.

Bernie has this fairy-tale view of Denmark and Sweden that bears very little resemblance to the true state of either countries system.
You're point #2 is nonsense.

Yeah, and even then it's just because the dude was saying a whole bunch of leftist nonsense and Shapiro had enough and told him to **** off. Intellectually Neil really didn't own anything.

direct democratic socialism is great.
All politicians are puppets. They are easily bought by any lobby to push that lobby’s policies. They are bought agents working for their masters. They do not represent you. Most of the time their policies go against public or national interest.
Representative or elective democracy is bullshit.
Can there be different ways of ownership of a company?
National/International public company with shares privately owned, equally, by all citizens of the country/the world. This will effectively end world poverty, because all successful companies will be owned equally by everyone, so if that company makes lots of profits, each citizen gets dividends equally, instead of the 1 percent rich elite owning all major companies of the world while 99 percent of humanity slaves away making these miserable rich people even richer than they are.
This is a merger of socialism/communism and democratic capitalism.
Democratic socialist capitalism.
Example: Facebook, Google, Apple, IBM, Microsoft owned by all citizens of America (or planet earth) with each individual getting equal amount of profits in dividends monthly or weekly.
Everyone gets rich together.
And if some company fails, so what? Won’t hurt individual or people.
What is e-direct democratic socialist capitalism then?
Weekly or monthly, people vote electronically via their smartphones or laptops or whatever their politicians (who are nothing but announcers or puppets) who announce what policy/law is to be voted upon that day. 9am to 6pm is the time period where people of the nation/world are allowed to vote, each direct vote of an individual of that country/world counts directly instead of these corrupt puppet politicians “representing you”.
Central bank(s) owned by all individual citizens (not families, each individual citizen, including children (for orphans, downtrodden and others)) each individual owns equal amount of private shares (for life that no one can take away from them)
There will be no need for public share trading after that because everyone will own everything equally as shares.
All companies/corporations owned by everyone in the country/planet in togetherness.
Everyone prospers. The more you spend the richer you get collectively. You get dividends of profits. You spend them. Since you own all companies (fast food, media, walmarts, amazons, etc) you’ll earn by spending in a way.
Messianic solution to all world problems.
It merges socialism with capitalism.

Nonetheless, Republicans will call that Marxism. The only way America will ever change course is through a collapse of the existing system. Only then can things be restructured in a way that's beneficial to all. Until then, oligarchy and corporatism (and all the injustices that go along with such a system) will continue to dominate.
