I see love as a state of being. It is clear, lucid and free from mind and thought. It radiates outward from inward and has awareness of wholeness and completeness without judgement/condemnation and absolute acceptance of any action or behavior. Love is stillness.
Like Hutch's thread on forgiveness, one can only truly love when one lets go. This may not even occur in its purest form until death.
